So, guys, Hercule Poirot or Sherlock Holmes? I love both, but I say Holmes!

Assuming Marquess of Queensberry rules, I'd say Holmes, indubitably.
Holmes. Definitely, indubitably Holmes, although Poirot and Holmes together would be completely unstoppable.

Kidding. Between those two I'd say Holmes.

Of course, Jane says otherwise
Eh, and there I was, thinking there has to be plenty of people who like Poirot more.

Indeed, if we combine perfect logic and analytical mind of Sherlock Holmes and occasional magic of Poirot, we will get a MASTERMIND!
Holmes. I have an amazing theory that Holmes is actually not a genius, but a raging opium snorting batshit crazy person who only solves mysteries by being completely unhinged, coming up with the most insane plans and guessing/hallucinating the least likely outcome. Which, of course, is always what happened. (*snnnrttt* IT WAS A SNAKE.)

Poirot seems condescending but without the fun crazy nonsense logic of Holmes. Though I've only read Roger Ackroyd, which everyone hates. I thought it was pretty great.

Together they would tear shit up.
Poirot, Poirot all the way. Holmes is so stuck up he's an unintended parody of himself, while Poirot is very much a deliberate parody of himself. I love that about him.

This
Holmes, but I love them both too.

Though make sure its the original BBC adaptation not that new fangled series they've been trying on the Telly!

*also it appears Disney have bought the rights and are going to do a US Miss Marple TV series...... can't they leave anything alone!!!*

Disney? Miss Marple will solve any any case singing and dancing :)

And yes, on the TV I do only like the original Miss Marple in stylish black&white :)
Margaret Rutherford was amazing
/pointless factoid

In one of the more recent Sherlock Holmes video games he encounters a young Poirot on a train and says the 'little grey cells' line to him.

Obviously non-canon to both universes, but an amusing easter egg nonetheless.

Ahh I think I'm thinking a little later than the B&W - the BBC ones with Joan Hickson - though I've memories and I think I might have seen one of the earlier ones (though maybe with the recolouring process run over it).
From the two? Poirot.
