I know, I passed by a couple years ago. I had an hilarious conversation with a local old lady who told me "I was in Belgium once, and they had 2ºC!" as if it was unbelievable, when in winter it gets considerably colder very often. I also was on a mountain on my shorts while all the locals where dressed up with jackets, scarfs and basically you could hardly see their faces, to the point where I was the tourist attraction getting pictures taken. And there were at least 10ºC.

My point was, in Belgium it's (was?) a trend to build a pool on their home garden, when the weather is good enough to use maybe 20 days a year. If they're lucky. I'd say a fireplace is just as pointless in Indonesia.
