please let this be true..

it's about time we heard something new about what is going to happen to the HL franchise..

and HL3 would be a WHOLE lot better than just Ep3
"Keep in mind that Valve isn't above trolling its own fans" - Something to remember always.
At this point it's undeniable that the episodic content has failed. The only way they could conclude Half-Life at this point is with a full sequel. It's not entirely illogical that they're working on it. After all the series has a massive following.

But yeah, don't go getting your hopes up.
Valve Employee: "Shit, they mixed up the print for the new t-shirts! It's supposed to read Portal 3 not Half-Life 3.
Gabe: "Waaaaaaitaminute..."
i know Valve can be giant teasers, same with Kojima..

but guys.. i have to keep my hope up..
Half-Life is the best entertainment series in history for me..

I think the main point of the HL games was to Push to Engine, kind of like the UT games

My guess is that Valve will release the next HL game when the next Generation of consoles launch, which I am guessing will be in 1-2 years

Yeah, well, hmm.

HL 1 was brilliant and a revolution for FPS gaming. That is given. But apart from the boring story (and story telling, imo. Only because it's unique it isn't necessarily good) I could never get this "wow" feeling I get from a lot of other series.

And I never finished HL 2. I can see all the good stuff that is in there and how they tryed to be more than just a shooter. But it just never made click. My current try at least brought me back to City 17 (third try in total, never gotten this far). The facial animations and character model are gorgeous. But in the end, this game is utterly bland and boring for me.

And I can even managed to play through MW 2 and 3. Heck, even Black Ops, and that was really shitty. But in comparison to other shooters or even other source based shooters, it just can't keep me excited enough.

I don't want to troll, and, as I said before. I can see all the good parts and at some moments I was really, really impressed by the game. But there are just no "sparks" between me and HL 2.

Fixed it for you :)
Don't you know that Valve can't count higher than 2? The most you'll get is Half-Life 2: Episode 2: Part 2
I bet they turn it into an FPS.
Although, Valve is pretty clever with announcing new games. They could have given one or two employees these shirts to see how far it spread and how quickly. Only to announce the game at VGA show next week....
Many people adore HL. Expectations are going to be sky high. How can Valve possibly deliver?
I can no longer play FPS shooter...

Quick! I need a decent reaction video before I post this! Too late :U

Erm, same way they delivered with Halflife 2 :P

I'm excited. Valve is quite good at a particular kind of FPS, and they've shown that they know how to tell a story with relative creativity and artistic maturity.
