sauvignon1: I read The Road, and It's pretty messed up too. Sorry If I'm spoiling some of it, but there's a scene where an infant is getting roasted on a spit. And Heavy Metal is still a great movie, it's actually one of my favorites, but that kid getting shot scene is pretty intense.

I just finished watching The Road. That was....amazing. I almost cried during half of it. If ANY movie can do that (And that is the first one to do it.), then it's one of my new favorites.

I wonder if the following is what happened.
The boy was caught jerking off with the manga and the mother was of certain...persuasion so obviously the child needs therapy or exorcism....

It's interesting that you say that because the chapter of Gantz that he read, The Naked Suicide Girl, has full frontal female nudity. Can you imagine what it would be like, having been sheltered all your life, to all of the sudden see a fully naked girl? No wonder the kid snapped.

This reminds me of a story a few years ago, where a father demanded compensation from the city because his two sons were "accidentally" reading a book on lesbian sex.
Well, he's probably telling the truth about his sons having many sleepless nights afterwards, at any rate.
The author's response is hilarious.

It's kinda hard to tell when someones being ironic when you're reading text lol. And I agree, the novel was fantastic.
