For those not aware of it you can preload Monkey Island 2: Special Edition from STEAM since quite a few hours I think ;)
Looking forward to the game which should unlock in around 9 hours!
You still have the chance to pick up the first one for free by preordering Monkey Island 2 (wow that sounded like the typical salesman small talk, sorry for that)
Aye!
Bought the first one from TellTale when it hit their store. Will do the same for this one.
Preordering a digital version of a game is still a mystery to me...
They made gamers having the habit to preordering the physical version, not too long ago, pretending that the stocks were limited, but now... no interest... so they now make special offers or that kind of crap just to make buy a thing without really knowing what it is...
Sometimes, Steam and their preodering gamers - oops sorry, I mean consumers - remind me that.
I'm getting it on the 360, need to show them that things other than shooters are wanted on the consoles
Just right! I have to go to work in about an hour, and when I get home, It's voodoo time!
I would have pre-ordered if it had been discounted. But just getting the first game free -- which I've already bought -- is not a pre-order incentive for me. Mind you, I doubt I'll have time to play it for a while anyway so I probably won't bother picking it up for a long time now.

I only pre-ordered it because I got the original SE free, which I didn't have and didn't want to buy particularly.

It's MONKEY ISLAND! I dont care about anything but being able to play the SE as soon as I can cause MONKEY ISLAND!!!!111 one
Any other place to get it other than Steam? I assume still the Steam only policy as like MI1 SE?

I get to preload it, which is nice because when I get back from work I can start playing immediately, I got a free copy of SoMI, which I sold off for $5, effectively getting me a $5 discount, and I know the game will be good. I'd pay $5 for a copy of MI2 standard, so even if the extra stuff did suck, which it won't, I'd still be happy. There's no reason for me not to preorder.

If the game is encrypted, which preloads usually are on Steam, you don't really get to play it immediately, do you. As you have to wait for it to unencrypt the files and then download the remaining few.
Sure for a game as small as this one, it's probably not going to take that long, but then, neither is downloading it after purchasing it once its released...
The only time I found Steam's preload system to be useful was when I purchased Silverfall. But then that game is over 12 gigs in size and the 30 mins it took to unencrypt and fetch the remaining few files was far less then the 24 or so hours it took to download.

I just checked, it IS on the PSN and DAMN am I glad to get it on 360 instead! $10 vs $16. Not that Monkey 2 isn't WORTh 16 bucks but a 60% price hike is just moronic
