Just now it occurred to me that the wishlist has no practical function other than to remind yourself which games you want to buy at a later time, i.e. when they're on sale. It occurred to me just now because I checked out the GOG.com main page for some Christmas sales and noticed that Slipstream 5000, a game that I had wishlisted, had been on sale but wasn't anymore. Naturally I was a bit miffed because I had checked the box reading "I want to receive e-mails from GOG.com about discounts and promos".

Please extend the email notification to games that people have wishlisted, because I think getting them at discount prices is the main reason they wishlist them instead of buying them straight away.

Slipstream 5000 was a "Hidden Gem Promo". Those are Promos (every second wednesday in a month) that is not announced by Mail.

The Only way to find out about them is visiting the page regularly at these dates (or every day, as the community is just great)
I noticed that gamer's gate has three options for games: Buy, wishlist, inform me when it's on sale. I thought that looked like a pretty good system (until they refused to let me pay).

I don't necessarily mean that those promos always have to be announced, just that customers would be notified when games they've wishlisted are on discount.

No no no, you are quite right.

You've explicitly asked GOG to email you about discounts and promos.. them not doing so is very rude, especially considering they effectively offered to do it and there is no warning that you will only get mail for some discounts and promos.
