So, games have great music, right?

I've noticed that whenever I hear a song, that is in some of the games I've played, I instantly think that game/situation in the game, when that song is played..

It's quite funny though :)

Examples:
GTA4 (High speed pursuit was in progress when this blasted out of the radio, will always associate this song to this game...)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8txk6EhYZKA

Fallout 3 (Was running away from a gatling gun mutant)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bCY09s-c41A

FFVII (that darn race...)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aJmvj7o4ook

Special mention (Certain movie...)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HgzGwKwLmgM (That one scene in that one movie...)

Do you have some songs in mind?

Ps. If there's a thread similar to this, then I apologize, but I couldn't find one..

Damuna: I associate The Rocket Summer with Majora's Mask, because I had one of their albums playing nonstop at the time; now, when I listen to particular songs by that artist, I get flash frames of the game.

Though, maybe I didn't quite get what you meant - game music isn't often spread about, except for maybe things like Fallout 2's opening theme, which I hear all the time at a nearby cafe.
I was trying to say that whenever one hears a piece of music, a game might pop up in one's mind :)

So your example is as valid as mine :)

My brain is at the moment in a total jam, so my english is f*cked :D
I had two songs played on loop while playing about as Alliance in WoW so hearing them always makes me think of the Night Elf starting area, which is kind of funny because they really don't match the atmosphere :P

Amorphis - Cares
Seether - Remedy

On the flip-side, hearing a couple of tracks from Simcity 2000 makes me think of German size descriptions because I was playing it while revising German :P
Any Sonic Mayhem song with Quake 2. Their sound is just so distinct.
Tori Amos and Quake. I dunno. I think I had lost my Quake CD and Under the Pink was within reach. The rest is history.
Ultimate Showdown with Transport Tycoon. I went through a phase when I'd always be listening to that song while playing TT. Same goes for Somebody to Love and Ikarium.
Demon's Souls has some songs that immediately remind me of the bosses. The music from the Maiden Astraea fight, and the King Allant fight. Maiden Astraea because of the peculiarness of the fight (can't really say what without spoiling it), King Allant because he was the last of the demons I killed on my first playthrough. Though I don't hear those often, only when I play them.

How Much is that Doggie in the Window?
Makes me think of Bioshock. Though that I only hear when actually playing it. Song creeps me out now though.
I associate the Pearl Jam album "Yield" with "Need for Speed: High Stakes," because it was a game that allowed you to insert a music CD in the drive which would play in-game, like an actual car stereo. I played a fair amount of rock albums while I obsessively played that game, I believe, though "Yield" sticks out as being played the most. It's actually pretty appropriate, considering the album cover and the pounding bass lines and hooks of the music itself.

I don't even own the game anymore, but that's probably the most potent example of music/album association I have for a video game.

Truly bizarre. Should be featured in Ripley's "Believe it or Not!"

I look forward to a confession from a GOG-er about how "Redneck Rampage" is associated with "The Field Mice."

anyone who doesn't associate the blue danube waltz with Elite should hang their heads with shame.. WITH SHAME
Probably every song from the Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines soundtrack. I played that game to death, so now I just immediately think of VTMB whenever I hear those songs (which is often, since they are part of my main playlist for my iPod).

In particular:
"Cain" by Tiamat: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hDQGEi9_cUU

And for obvious reasons:
"Bloodlines" by Ministry: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jd0xNNcJovk

I associate the X-Files theme song to Phantasmagoria. No clue why.

I associate Adagio for Strings with Homeworld, since well, the choral version of that song is in the game. But I tend to associate the Tiesto and orchestral versions with it as well. Just the emotional feeling of the game fits all the versions well.
Ah, also associate Civilization III with The Avalanches - used to listen to them on loop while playing that game all day long.

I'm currently playing Arx Fatalis (love it so far), and since there are no musics (mostly ambient sounds) I decided to listen to some Za Frumi musics while I play. It complements the game perfectly in my opinion.
