This is how Windows 8 and later will look:

All Aero is, in my opinion, is just window dressing to make the windows look prettier and adds to the bloat that accompanies most Windows installs.

Looks interesting. I am not sure how the reception of this switch in layout, some people might have a hard time adjusting to the new Windows and just go back to older versions. I personally have no problem with change if it is done in the "right" way and handled with respect. It can't be change just to have change.

This one is going to sink, Vista style. There is no way they'll manage to sell that, at least not to me. Where did the start button go? Why remove aero peek? The heck is wrong wit those extra large tabs, like AOL had looong time ago, I'm not using tablet.
Seriously MS, what is this?

Windows 8 looks worse every time I see it. I hate the ribbon interface. They take up so much real estate and are a pain to use.

Aero is fine by me. Better than these glaring plain white rectangles.

Peek, on the taskbar? It is still there. What large tabs? If you mean the Ribbon interface, that one is minimized by the default and you won't be seeing it unless you maximize it.

Too bad they didn't implement "minimized by default" on the Win 7 apps that use it, MS Paint and MS Movie Maker come to mind. Brain just wants to vomit when I see them.

(I think i am being irrational so please correct me)
guys I am terrified of windows 8 I fear it will bring the end of true PC gaming
hell even using a PC for work imo microsoft does not know how important Windows is to the world when you go to offices with computers you see them using windows not macs and definantly not tablets also most people who makes games today uses microsoft windows to make games we love right now you don't see people making a game from a IOS tablet no they make it from windows then they port it to a tablet all this is pretty much confirmed when microsoft said use your PC like a device not a computer and that sad we still need computers not consumer electronics I do not want to see myself working in an office working with a Windows 8 computer being bombarded with fucking ads of games and movies and music

I would argue that the Ribbon helps with productivity, especially in Office, but then, it would be a personal opinion. :) Some users handle menus better.
Still using XP myself.

That one. Didn't notice it on the picture.
And yet that ribbon interface is the main feature of win 8. I don't want to ditch keyboard/mouse combo for touchscreen because it's trendy to do so (nor do I have money to spend on 22" wide touch screen). I hate my phone for not having physical keyboard as I like tactile response from keyboard. I don't have to bear with that while I'm using PC, do I?

EDIT: Forgot to say, everyone has it's taste, everything is fine as long as we have freedom of choice.

Reading through the blog post now, hah, funny how some people were claiming back in the days that the mouse hinders productivity.

I guess in the future, we'll look back and laugh how we used the mouse and keyboard combination in our everyday lives. :)

Not because of touchscreens hopefully....
