You can find Nox as a free download somewhere else, and I'm pretty sure it's legal. It would still be cool to see it on GOG with extras, though.

EDIT: I had posted some links here for downloading it because I thought I read somewhere that they gave up the rights. I'm not sure what I was remembering, but I can't find information one way or the other so I'm removing the links.

Been dying to play this game for a while but it doesn't run on my OS. :(

Would be nice if it can pop up on GoG but I'll check out the alternative that guy above me suggests.

If you have Vista or 7, a compatibility mode might work. Do you know how to do that?

Gammix: I don't remember if this is the place I downloaded it before, but you can download it here: *snip*
And where does it say it's legal? ;)

The second link probably is, because it's a demo.

Nox is certainly not a legal download, it's not abandonware in any sense of the term as the IP is still owned by EA.
Nox is by Westwood so by definition EA holds the rights. If these links download anything else then the demo they are illegal... Abandonware in itself is also always illegal.

I thought I read somewhere that they decided it could be available for free. I'll check it out and remove the links if you're right.

EDIT: I can't find information one way or the other, not sure where I heard that to begin with. I'll remove the links just in case, sorry to disappoint people who wanted to download the game. =(

EA? lol no. Ultima IV was free for a while and with a very limited distribution, EA have since taken it down. C&C, Red Alert and Tiberium Sun are free but only from the C&C website to promote the newer C&C games.
Now that I took the links down, everyone who quoted me should edit their post to take the links out as well. Thanks.

By the way, I think EA was one of the companies they listed in the conference as ones they might be making deals with soon. So there's a chance we'll all have access to Nox before too long anyway. =)

Is this the same Westwood that published the FASA developed "Inception of the Crescent Hawks"? Anyway, I remember playing Nox, and thinking (during the intro cine) that the voice of the villainess, whose name escapes me, sounded a lot like Pearl Forrester's. It wasn't the same actress, but it sounded the same.
Y'argh! A Wild Pirate appears!
