Well, our big sale starts in 18 hours, where virtually the entire catalog will be 50% off and we'll be giving away Empire Earth: Gold Edition for free for 48 hours.

Before we get to that, though, we're going to give away one last round of bonus codes for our holiday celebration. We have 50 codes that are good for any $5.99 game in our catalog, and 50 codes that will work for any $9.99 game in our catalog. Leave a comment in this forum thread with your favorite character from a GOG.com game and tell us whether you'd like a $5.99 code or a $9.99 one.

Tomorrow (12 December) at 11.00 GMT, we'll close the contest--and start our big sale--so you can get your holiday shopping on.

Happy Holidays to you all!
Kate Walker in Syberia

I'd like a 5.99$ game

Thank you and happy holidays
I think Earthworm Jim is the best character. Talk about an absurd concept but they just made him work. I would like a 9.99 code please.
My favorite character is the Avatar from the Ultima series, for the reason that Ultima pioneered making moral choices in games and how the character is a reflection of those choices.

I never did get to play Ultima 7 as my computer wasn't capable when it came out. I would love a $5.99 code so I could remedy this!
I'd say Minsc and boo from Bg2.

and if possible, I would like a 5.99 code
Duke Nukem, Hail to the king baby. $9.99 please.
Who doesn't love a good sidekick?

Dalboz of Gurth ftom Zork: GI,
or Morte from Planescape: Torment,
or Floyd from Planetfall (The Zork Anthology)

I'd like a $5.99 code for Giants: Citizen Kabuto.
There is only one clear choice here: Jools from Cannon Fodder.

I'm playing the odds and request a $5.99 code.

I would have to go with Duke Nukem as my favorite character, Hail to the King baby!

A $5.99 would be nice.

Thanks!

Raz from Psychonauts, he's got awesome psy-powers! He needs a sequel right now!
I would like a $9.99 code please.
Boo... the space hamster

don't care too much, lets say 9.99, but a lot of the games I like are 5.99... so 5.99

yea, 5.99... you gettings my money on the 12th either way ^_^
"Who is the boss of you? Me, I am the boss of you!" -The Grand Inquisitor from Zork: Grand Inquisitor.

And I'll take whatever I can get cause I rarely win anything anyway. Beggars can't be choosers.

Thanks,

Andrew

I have to admit, in a very weird sense, I like Sam from the Serious Sam games. Although not highly refined, the little jabs that he gives all enemies is really funny over both games. Especially in The Second Encounter, where after picking up the chainsaw, he calls himself a lumberjack (Monty Python, anyone?) I'm, however, a strategistic gamer, so I have a preference to a $5.99 code, assuming I win one. Thanks, and bring on the sale!
Dandelion from The Witcher 2 because of his beastly quest summaries that allowed me to enjoy quests I've done in a new way.

I'd like a $9.99 code,
My favorite character would probably be Ralgha "Hobbes" nar Hhallas. Based on the Wing Commander Series where great storytelling was the norm, Hobbes was truly special. He was special because of how close he was to the hearts of the gamer for being a favorite wingman and a great friend.

The betrayal later of Hobbes (in WC3) was such a great impact in the game that we were all talking about it in school and made me talk my parents into buying my "christmas" present a lot earlier than scheduled. It was bittersweet to learn it both from friends in school and later seeing it in-game. I couldn't even bring myself to go after him...

It was a tribute to the game designers that so much emotion was poured out over one character both us friend and traitor.

I personally would like to thank GOG.COM for making old games affordable (or free) plus the added effort of porting to modern systems and of course the cool add-on downloadables.

If I get chosen, I would request for either $5.99 code (to get Freespace 2) OR $9.99 (to get Planescape: Torment).
