This should be a quick way for someone to earn some instant Rep Points...

I'll admit it, despite using computers for nearly 30 years, I really know very little about Tablets. I know that they have touch-screens, and I know that there are a variety of Operating Systems for them (Android, whatever Apple uses, etc), so I'd be shocked if Windows wasn't an available Tablet O/S. But can we play GOGs & other PC games on them?

Can we play games that require only a mouse, by tapping & (presumably) double-tapping? Is the virtual keyboard accessible for games that require text input, or would we need to slap a keyboard accessory on there?

Remember, I'm not a complete idiot about computers...I know desktops, laptops, and netbooks...its just the Tablets I'm pretty clueless about.

It probably depends on the OS. The games here all are microsoft supported, no apple or linux or anything else like that. So, windows only based tablets probably. After that, you may need a tablet specific version of dosbox, which would mean you have to play around some with the downloads to have them running. This is all a guess, but I don't know how many other people here have tablets.

There is a DOSBox and ScummVM for Android ... and probably iOS though I imagine via jailbreaking the device only (they were available for a short time but have long since been pulled from the App store). How well the controls are implemented may depend on the game but there are several forumers who play GOG games on the tablet and I think a lot of DOSBox and ScummVM games run fine.

Windows 8 comes out in a few months and will be on tablets, but those tablets will almost certainly be ARM processors ... so unless they are recompiled many GOG games won't work on it. However, I'd be surprised if there wasn't a DOSBox or ScummVM release capable of running on a Win8 ARM tablet either already or soon after release. As for most other GOG games, I don't think you'll see them on ARM architecture.
