Gather your magic, mighty hero!

Etherlords, a challenging turn-based strategy game with exquisite visuals and unique trading-card battle mechanics, is now available on GOG.com for only $5.99.

Ether is everything. Therefore the one who controls the Ether controls the whole of the existence. But Ether isn't just a mindless force saturating the universe. It has a will of its own and it won't submit easily. It seeks balance in all things but at the same time it hates stagnation. It drives the four intelligent races--the dexterous winged Kinets, the forest worshiping Vitals, the fearsome brutes Chaots, and the bio-metallic Synthets--to find their equilibrium in battle. The face of the world ever changing, the balance of the world ever shifting--Ether does not allow any of the factions to keep the upper hand. But there is one person wielding the ultimate power over Ether in all of its diversity. Can you defeat him and become the next White Lord?

Etherlords combine the trading-card duel mechanics of Magic: The Gathering with the world exploration and resource gathering of Heroes of Might and Magic. The player takes control over a champion of one of the game's four diverse races and embarks on a quest for ultimate power. On his way, he will collect and produce new cards to build a supreme deck allowing to summon units into battle. The game offers two extensive campaigns: one for the Kinets and Vitals, who represent the light and prolific aspect of Ether, the other one for Chaots and Synthets, who personify the dark and destructive facet of the omnipresent force. The choice of a race, however, affects the gameplay much more than the choice of faction, as each of the four champions has his own agenda and a unique set of spells and units.

Learn how to draw power out of thin air, build your ultimate deck, and become one of the Etherlords, for only $5.99!
Now i can throw away my PC Guru's discs of the game . Waiting for Etherlords II .
I played Etherlords 1 and 2 when I was looking for more turn based gameplay after HoMM 5 . The game has different mechanics (the battles are more like in Magic The Gathering), but the game itself is interesting and can suck you in. Thanks a lot GOG Team for putting more and more games into your catalog!!
I've been interested in this one for a long time. IIRC, it received very good reviews when released. Anytime a game is compared favorably to HOMM, it always gets my attention. Wishlisted for a future sale...

It's totally unique tactic combat experience. I recommend it to any turn based fantasy strategy game fans.
I played it a few times at a friend's house when it first came out. Incredibly fun game and well worth 6 bucks.

Wish listed for now though as I just picked up Silver this morning and my backlog keeps on growing :)
Wishted for now. Though I may pick it up later today. Hopefully 2 will make it here as well! Thanks GOG.
Yeah!

Tough but fun, with a nice art style.
Classic. Next thing you know, we get Etherlords II. ;)
Thank you soooooooo much gog, wishlisted.
Now i only want heavy metal fakk 2 and oni, then i can die happy :P.
So, this is a mix of HoMM and MTG game elements? :|
Take My Money. This is one of the greatest game series ever for me

I had this game on disk and I really liked the box design. But I didn't want to install it on my new computer because of the Starforce DRM.

Can you guarantee that this version is 100% Starforce-free?
Good release.

Etherlords only had Storforce in certain regions, Etherlords 2 might have had it more universally, but if you check the original, it's only a few releases, like the Russian one, that had it.

AND SOLD, been waiting for this one, happy to not have to patch this mofo.

Wishlisted.
I only played a little of the second one but I liked what I saw. Thanks gog!
Ahh one of the few card games on the PC done right! Giving you all the cards in the game itself and none of this "purchase additional cards all the time" stuff that most of them have moved to now (or being like the Magic the Gathering one which is more about playing specific slightly modifiable decks instead of free-form deck building).

I picked up the second game a few years ago and its great fun - only problem was I could never get the downloadable level editor to work (and never really hunted for many custom maps - though I think by now most of the old downloads for that are just dead links). Hopefully we might see the second and a (working) level editor on GOG and new life to the game and its content world
