Hello everyone
A friend asked me about a score reading program, do you have any program to suggest? I usually use Guitar Pro and he wants a similar and free program that can play and read scores since he plays sax and bass.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!

can you be a little more specific? What exactly do you mean by "play and read scores?" Do you mean a notation software such as Finale?
I'm curious what you mean exactly, too. If you do mean something like Finale, MuseScore is a free alternative. http://musescore.org/

I meant playing the song, sound coming out of the speakers and by read I meant that the score is displayed in front of you and... I just realized I should have said score editor. =P

EDIT: thanks for the musescore

Well, as mention Finale is professional notation software and MuseScore is a free alternative. I think either one would work for your friend.

Check out Finale Notepad. It's quite limited, but it's free and might suit your needs. Depends how advanced you are. My field is music composition, so I use the professional version of Finale, which is several hundred dollars, but if you're just looking to have some fun with a friend there's no need to get the full version. Notepad is fine for simple tunes, but it starts showing its limitations whenever you go to do things like switching time signatures or key signatures mid-music.

There are probably other free ones out there. It's been awhile since I looked into it.
