Gundato: I am not up on the whole "Destructoid bad" crap
Destructoid have trolled the hell out of people for a long time now.
Now sure, they could have felt that Heavy Rain was crap. Personally I'm not going to disagree with that. It was after all full of plot holes and relied entirely on QTEs.
But in the same breath, to rave about a game which is probably the oddest, dullest and probably one of the least game-like game made that year really does make it plainly obvious they're just there to take the piss out of anyone who takes them seriously. Just like them labelling indie games as pretentious wankery then going on to praise some of them. They're full of shit, basically.
Gundato: In a lot of games, the AI is horribly gimped. They can only see five feet in front of them and can't see through shrubs or cracks in a fence. Admittedly, that is done because real stealth sucks (nobody wants to crawl for five miles...), but this is the kind of game that is trying to simulate that.
Metro 2033 had a similar problem to Sniper in the AI department. Only in that you were sneaking along in the dark under the floor not making a sound, only to be spotted through the gaps in the floorboards... Yeah. Not going to happen. Not unless you were on fire at the time.
In Sniper (apparently) the problem is that you're being easily spotted from many hundreds of metres away through dense foliage while wearing full on Ghillie Suit. That's not going to happen unless you're jumping around like a kangaroo, fence or no fence.
