I apologize for posting this here, but my post on Steam is not getting any replies and I couldn't find an answer on Google. Does anyone here own Stalker CoP (NOT the loyalty edition) on Steam? The stand-alone version. Can you tell me what type of extra DRM it has? I bought a copy on Impulse and it had Tages and I couldn't get it to activate and they gave me a refund, so I'm thinking about getting the Steam version if it does not have Tages. Thanks.

I just started up my copy for the first time to check for you, and it didn't seem to require any extra activation. It definitely doesn't require a CD key or anything like that.

Steam will usually list if there's any third party DRM in the Game Details box. As CoP doesn't list any DRM, and I didn't see any DRM when I started it up, I think you're safe.

Also the loyalty edition is identical to the regular release. It's just a discount for those who have other games in the series. But I did buy my copy standalone during a sale, if you're worried.

The product page does not mention any additional DRM, and there's nothing mentioned at http://steamdrm.flibitijibibo.com/ either.

I'd say you're safe.

But, I suggest waiting until the holiday sale, the game's price always goes down then.
Thanks guys, i knew i could count on a fellow GOGer for an answer. I will wait for the Xmas sale and buy it then.
Are you aware that the physical version requires nothing more than a disc check?

I'd get that version if you actually give a damn about DRM.
