If I buy L4D2 here, I'll get the lame low-violence version. I need someone who isn't in Australia or Germany to gift me it. Preferably someone who doesn't have to pay in Euros, so you don't get burned on the Euro = Dollar BS. In return, I'll gift you something of equivalent price here or on steam. Preferably something here, as I'm a little paranoid about Valve being dicks and banning my steam account.
Edit: Thanks lackoo1111! Enjoy your game!

Judging by the current exchange rate, you'd be paying ~$12.5 USD, and if you pay VAT, ~$15 USD. Is there a game or games you're looking for that amount to around/even a little over that? Eg. a $9.99 and a $5.99 game from here, or something around the same from steam?

Grabbed Space Rangers 2 Reboot, Clive Barker's Jericho and Rise of the Argonauts myself. I played Rise of the Argonauts on the Metaboli subscription service ages ago and it crashed a fair bit, so I hope the Steam version doesn't. Still, for #1.69 or whatever it was, I can't grumble.
Looking forward to the horror elements and such in Jericho as well, though I've read the story isn't too good. Only game I've played is Space Rangers, because the others are like 4 - 11 gigs. I never like leaving my computer on too long.
As a side-note, was tempted to pick up Commandos 2 and 3 for between 1 - 2 pound each, but haven't got the money. Just mentioning that in case anyone wants to grab them.
Edit: Not bad value at all anyway for those 3, for just under 7 pound. Space Rangers alone would have cost me over 10 pound to purchase (think closer to 20 pound). Rise of the Argonauts I'd also had my eye on due to it only being 5 pounds. So, it's a good job I'd held off on buying them. Never had my eye on Jericho though, so an impulse buy.

Anyone else bought company of heroes and are you able to run it? I'm getting crashes to desktop as soon as I load (well after 3-4 seconds of black, same thing), the relic updater thing loads in the background but doesn't ever connect, presumably the steam version is up to date

I have CoH complete pack. Try the verify your game files and restart your computer and try again.
Done those, thinking of deleting a few random files and forcing it to reverify

I'm having problems as well. Can't get either Cryostasis (PhysX problem) or Jericho (CTD after movies) to run. Might give it a few days then try reverifying.

Can you run it without the Steam client? Have you tried moving it out of the steam directory and manually patching it with retail patch(es)?
Only then you'll have the choice of using a disc or login each time you play the game. Only in your case you'll be stuck with the login, obviously. Which means creating a Relic account if you don't already have one. That might solve whatever problem you're having as I've heard that Relic aren't so great at patching through Steam.

Never thought to do that but I tried a trick I read about switching languages and getting it to reverify, turns out the language switch costs 3 bloody gig but I'll give it a try since its 1/3 through already

Ouch! At least you should be able to delete the files afterwards... assuming they're not all over the place and poorly labelled.

Is Space Rangers good enough?
And what about Star Wolves? Those are really cheap too.
