PoSSeSSeDCoW: If you like to play games at a lower patch level than the current one, you can't, as Steam automatically downloads patches.

I believe that can be turned off. However, if you uninstall or install on a new rig, you'll get the latest patch when it initially installs.

It can be turned off, but its not much of a help.
-If you want to get your game stuck at a given version, you must turn off automatic updates while you still have that version of the game.
-You will always get the newest version when installing the game on a new PC. Or if you deleted the game and want to install it on the same PC again.
=So, the chances of you keeping your game at the desired version are not much.
What happens with packs if you already own stuff in them? The THQ one has some stuff I want but since I already own about 60% of it, I'm sure not paying for them again
Bought Alpha Prime, Chrome pack ,and Killing Floor. Yay.

Nothing. Afaik, only The Orange Box gives you extra copies (in case you already have HL2 and HL2:EP1).
Amazing deals.
The only game I'm interested in is The Witcher, and as I have far too many games to play already, I'll wait till it shows up here. GOG.com has never told me that I couldn't play my own games.
Sadly, I can not run The Witcher, but my mother is going to 'lease' a computer that can....I'll skip this one sadly.

Navagon: It's not like they're going to sell out after all... well...

Heh. Did they ever get more keys for Prey?

Why not play it on that then?

Get the game... you know... just to keep it safe until you have a better PC.
Bought Commandos 2 for $1.69.
I already have most of the desired games that my pc can run. Hoping for a GTA Vice City sale that's around $2 to come around later.

Because knowing who is gonna be using it, I wont get a chance in hell to play it.
I was going to get Sacroboar, the Chrome pack and the Witcher, but then i noticed my automatic money transfers to my credit card account stopped happening in April so i owe the bank some money I guess and will have to visit the bank tomorrow to get my card active again.
Any of you have played sacroboar? Sounds interesting by the description, looks pretty, having no story is not a deterrent for me (I loved Mount & Blade and UT2k4) and i serioulsy doubt it'll get any cheaper.
The Wircher is 6 bucks and change. Even if it gets cheaper it'll only be for about 2 bucks, though I seriously doubt it. Also, I don' t think GOG will have it for a long while, probably a whole year. The first version is a tad old already but the enhanced edition is pretty recent.
Overlord seemed interesting but it's a one day sale, I love playing the good guy and it seems a tad repetitive.
Avencast is also cheap ($2.65) but I think the Witcher will suffice my hack and slash needs. I've still got divine divinity unplayed on GOG anyway.

That's okay by me. I probably have 60 or so games that I haven't finished. I won't be done by then. ^_^

You can get a demo from the Impulse store page if Steam aren't hosting it. I tried the demo when Impulse had it on sale for $5 and decided it wasn't worth it. And to be honest, I don't think it's worth it at $2 either. My biggest problem with it was the poor handling of screen resolutions where it was cutting off a large chunk of the screen for non-widescreen monitors (yes, I still have an ancient monitor that can only go as high as 1280 x 1024) and the controls. But try the demo, you may find it more to your liking than I did.

Avencast is a lot of fun. And I wouldn't really compare it to the Witcher, it's far less involving, I'd say it's nearer to Torchlight but with more story.
