When you are student with a limited amount every month, trust me, you will see the difference between $2 and $3.

By that reasoning, you might as well throw your money out the window.
Sure, a $3 difference might not make much of a dent in your (or mine for that matter) budget, but over time it adds up.
It's always better to get things cheaper (unless you want to support the developer), since you can always use that money for something else.
