tinyE: WRONG WRONG WRONG

This is Hysteria. And a shit record it was.

wizardtypething: And they couldn't even spell, the fucks.
It wouldn't have been so bad had "High & Dry" and "Pyromania" not been two of the greatest rock records ever. Of course I guess everyone is entitled to lay a egg every now and then.

Elenarie: But how can you call them real games when you just write text? They are real games as much as writing stuff in Word is a real gaming.

Did you really miss the whole point? :) Besides, if you do some searching here, you'll see that I've made a thread stating that I really, really like PlaneScape Torment. :p
Well you type instructions, magnificent awesome instructions like turn right, attack blob monster. Then you get cute little feedback and stats generated by the programming of the game which awaits your brain to decide and input the next instruction for the brain of the game to process :)

You do know Planescape is not made by Blizzard? :P

Licurg: This isn't even a game, it's an interactive movie !
avatar
Navagon: No it's not. Interactive movies have, you know, interaction.
Nah, just not press anything and watch the dude kill the other dude.

Looks pretty similar to the spellchecking in Word. Thus, they are not real games.

(I wonder whether I'll get down rep-ed again and the point gets totally missed again by the elitist jerks that have made this forum their home.)

Oh well, don't think I wanna bother trying to explain.

First, I wouldn't look at a Kotaku article and think PC MASTER RACE elitist jerk, that article is for the Xbone anyways. Secondly, I think it's sad that you think most console gamers will happily accept the fact that you can just press a wrong button or not press a button at all and win a "fight".

Why do it have to be "most" - what it wrong with "some"?

Edit - this game is being made for console - therefore most most console gamers.... Fallacy?

This is not about most console gamers accepting or not accepting whatever. This is about trying to murder a child before it has been even seeded. There is nothing wrong with developers exploring other markets. If there is a market for these games, then the games will sell, and the market (the people that would buy these games) will have nice experiences. If there isn't a market and the games fail to sell, then developers will explore other options, try different experiments, or go back to what they already know how to do.

Also, just because a jerk doesn't like the gameplay and game mechanics of a particular game, that doesn't make that game not a real one. The points I was trying to make (but got down rep-ed by idiots that apparently cannot get their stupid defensive shields down just because someone tried making fun of their so very much beloved distributor and favourite games) is that if there is something that can be called not a real game, then the same principle can be applied for every other game ever released.

But why use the brain to understand the point, when you (not you specifically, the ones that directed crap at me) can just brainlessly jump on defensive mode and fight with all your power to stop someone from making fun of your so precious feelings, comfort zone among the elitist community, games, crap and whatever else, right?

EDIT: For a community that calls itself "classy", it is pathetic how one-sided some people here are. Stay classy. ;)

I think that 'classy' has ended about two years ago :-P

To me it lost its classyness when gameon left GOG because Licurg insulted him and the blues did not do anything to help :(

Uhm, coz I assume most of them like challenges as a gamer?
Fair enough, "some" it shall be. Guess you think I'm giving console gamers too much credit.

I don't know man, coming from the biggest Blizzard fanboy on the Internet? Hehehe, I seem to recall more than once you were so hard defensive on Blizzard games especially with D3 and all the flak attacking it.
This whole thread is kind of stupid.

Let's take a look at your very first post in this thread :

Another day, another stupid post by PC MASTER RACE elitist jerks.

Yeah right... it's true that you are definitely a world expert in "classiness"...
I think it's more anachronistic to constantly discuss nothing but console/multiplat games on GOG boards, rather than anything actually sold on this site, but then claim that GOG community has lost it's "classiness" when people don't like hearing about console crap on a forum that exclusively sells PC games, mostly classic PC games. It honestly wouldn't be different than someone going to a console-gaming-focused news site or forum and constantly make threads about how console gaming sucks and PC is the master race. I don't do this, so I dunno perhaps Elenarie is Alice in Wonderland. Or perhaps such people know that console gaming communities really are terrible, and hypocritically avoid them for places like GOG.

I dunno, coming to GOG to talk about the most mainstream-of-mainstream multiplat games seems like going to North Korea, putting up a placard and having a one-man protest chanting that capitalism is superior to socialism. You're free to do it, but don't complain when some goons come and beat you up.

um.... who started this topic?
I find it hard to resist jumping into the fire, so I'll just say this:

Crytek's main mistake was putting a stupid representative in the same room with a stupid reporter, resulting in a stupid article which the stupid internet swallowed and then vomited all over the place.
