Ok, im going to do some gaming things, than some non-gaming things here.
Firstly, why every company insists on creating a World War II game. Its overdone, its been said many times before, you would think they would understand.
Why Bethesda even tries anymore.
Why I never remember the name of the main character in a game (I didn't know my name was Jack or whatever in Bioshock until the end)
What the songs "Viva la Vida", "Speed of Sound" and "Werewolves of London" are about.
How Family Guy made it to Season 8.
How Scrubs made it to Season 8.
How The Simpsons made it to season 100000000000000000.
Yeah, theres a lot of confusing things.
1: Overdone or not, they keep selling.
2: Denial and recent acquisition of one of the most coveted IPs in recent memory.
3: Your own problem. (though it doesn't usually matter in anything but rpg's)
4: Ask the band, because nobody else has a clue either.
5: Crude humor is "in," I guess.
6: See 5.
7: Some things are not meant to be known by mere mortals.

Yeah, theres a lot of confusing things.

Companies make WWII games because it's a proven genre with the sales to back it. Many of these games sell very well, and play on the whole 'nostalgia trap' that exists in our society. When your goal is to make money, generally people look for the easiest way to do it, right now, that's WWII games.
Bethesda tries because they are actually a subsidiary of the Republican Party and their main goal is to ruin video games (see: Fallout 3). They hope by releasing garbage on next-gen consoles, that people will be turned off gaming and instead watch Fox News.
You don't remember the name because most games want YOU to feel like the protagonist. Strong main characters often make you feel like less of a part of the game, and if their aim is to immerse you they will seldom reference names/details. Just look at System Shock 2, the predecessor of BioShock, same story,
I've never heard of these songs, so I can't comment. I will comment on a sweet metaphorical song by Common called "I Used to Love H.E.R" This song is about the treatment of hip-hop over the years, except in it hip-hop is a girl...brilliant!
Family Guy made it to season 8 because the first few seasons were mildly entertaining, and then it was taken away without notice. People panicked, begged for it to return and it has, people watch it because they remember how terrible Sunday nights were without it. Their fear of losing it negates the fact it's not a very good show anymore
Scrubs made it to season 8 because multiple networks needed something to fill their awkward Tuesday/Wednesday lineup and it seemed like a good option. Again, the first few seasons were mildly entertaining, and now it exists solely on reputation.
The Simpson's made it as long as it had because it appeals to a wide audience. I watched it and laughed as a young pup, I watch it and occasionally chuckle as a young adult. Because it appeals to a wide demographic it has gone on for as long as it has, plus, what the hell else is there to watch on a Sunday night? (besides Football)
Yes, the world is a very confusing place, but my advice to you would be to go to Google scholar, type in "Theoretical Physics" "Systems Biology + Math" or something else very academic, look for articles in Cell, Science and/or Nature, read some and my guess would be you'll find much of your life less confusing relative to what you'll read in those articles.

1.I think the time will come when people will get fed up, as already stated many people already are.
2.Good point
3.Yes it is my problem, but it still confuses me.
4.I swear even they don't know, I looked up interview with them about the subject
5.Agreed
6.I don't necissarly think Scrubs is crude humor, it is a very well writen show.
7.Still, I wish I knew :)
I'm already there with your mathematics/biology suggestions, only a freshman and taking Honors Geo and Molecular science, Its pretty deep stuff for my age.
Now, just to clarify, this is just for entertainment, all of these questions could be answered by myself fairly simply. It just seems like thoughts everybody has already had and thought it would be entertaining to see them.

Companies will keep making what sells. So if people are really fed up with a specific genre, then they should all stop buying it =)
The only thing I really don't get is why so many gamers buy into marketing hype, get annoyed when it's proven untrue and then blindly buy right into the next piece of marketing hype to come along!

Sorry, I haven't actually seen the show, I was just extrapolating from commercials I wasn't paying attention to...though it seems you already knew the answer.
Oh, I see, not a bad idea.
Nothing wrong with WW2 games, it's a good setting to put games.
Humans are the things that confuse me
Killing nazis will never get old.
Lot's of things confuse me, but with the power of Google, I can appear to have at least a smidgen of intellect.

they are a company which purpose is to make money.
they make money, big money.
