LordTarin: I keep hearing about support for XP ending, so I'm thinking about finally upgrading. But what should I get? They have Windows 8.1 for 69.99 w/ student discount, but I've heard so many people complain about it. Any suggestions? I don't want to have trouble playing all my favorite games on a new operating system.
I personally prefer Windows 7 64-bit :)

LordTarin: Is there anywhere I can still find it? I don't need a new computer, just the operating system.

phaolo: I can't find its retail version anymore! (OEM is so annoying)
I even prefer the english one, but it has disappeared on MS site too.. : (
Ebay.com has the answer, or if you want something within the EU, then ebay.co.uk ought to fit the bill :)

phaolo: Thank you, but.. are those really safe?
I read about a lot of scams with copied software or cracked keys.
Look for the picture of an actual box along with a picture of the license sticker. Look at the seller's feedback and, if you do decide to go via ebay, keep all receipts and report the seller and the item as pirated/cracked not legit. AFAIK, ebay should have a strict policy regarding illicit software so you should be covered on that front as well.
