[url=http://www.gog.com/en/promo/1c_wonderful_classics/]RPGs, space management, sci-fi RTSes, fantasy TBS, and (literally) chilling horror--pick your weapon and slay boredom with nine wonderful classics from 1C Publishing.

King's Bounty: The Legend is a treat for all HoMM lovers--you may say its a reimagination of the Heroes series, but it’s one that’s brimming with its own style, ideas, and small details. The game blends strategy and RPG with real time map exploration and turn-based combat in a fantasy world of kings, knights, and mages. Fantasy Wars is a game in a similar genre but a completely different one; it’s a turn-based strategy game played on a hex-based map. You will have to put your tactical thinking to the test against Orcs, Goblins, Elves, and Dwarves. The victory not always lays with the strongest army, so use the landscape and organize cooperation between different units to maximize your chances for victory. Both Fantasy Wars and King's Bounty: The Legend are available 50% for only $4.99 this weekend on GOG.com.

Space Rangers and Space Rangers 2: Dominators are both games like you’ve never seen before. An eclectic mix of turn-based combat strategy, 4X game, third-person shooter, trade simulation, and arcade shooter, this mashup should probably explode right in the devs faces, but instead these games pop with charm, playability, and fast pacing. Although the series is not widely known, you cannot afford to miss such unique, complex and fun series, and it’s only $4.99 for each of the games now on GOG.com.

If you miss the X-Com series, you're probably feel right at home when playing UFO: Aftermath. And if you liked it, you're going to love UFO: Aftershock. Once you’re done with the second invasion, you can complete the trilogy with UFO: Afterlight. UFO is a series of sci-fi tactical strategy games with nice engine, good game mechanics, and hundreds of aliens to blast.

This promo ends next Monday, May 15 11:59 PM EDT, but until then you can pick up the wonderful classics aboce as well as getting the excellent tactical/rpg space game Star Wolves and Cryostasis: The Sleep of Reason, a cold and dark horror set in the Arctic Circle. Both of these games are $4.99 this weekend only.

elvenlord: Does anyone know if the UFO games are similar in terms of gameplay to Incubation (Battle Isle 4)?

JMich: Haven't played Incubation (yet), so I can't compare them, but I can give you a bit of information if you want, and I can also suggest reading this thread.
Tactical combat is Real Time with Pause, not turn based, you only have one squad of 5 people, which can later be upgraded to 7, and you do have a fair bit of research and manufacturing to do.
Doesn't sound much like Incubation.
KB and FW DRM-free look really good, but considering I already have those on GamersGate....

These games are the only ones I would consider picking up from this sale. Cryostasis/King's Bounty are great, but I already have the DVDs...
The UFO-series is not similar to Incubation, though they share genre. The UFO series is quite similar to X-com though, so if you have played those games, you will have a good idea of what to expect (if you have not, then the UFO series might be a better introduction to the particular style of games than X-com, being a bit more lenient towards beginners).

*edit* Though if you have ANY interest what so ever in tactical games, then you have to check out Jagged Alliance 2. You don't have a single excuse not to.

It's not a true X-com game/clone if your men don't get massacred on your first few missions :p

Too true, too true! And then in later missions you will get massacred via molecular control... eh, that was a good time playing Terror from the Deep
Since I already own Cryostasis twice, and all other games from the promo thrice, I think I may perhaps possibly maybe skip this offer. ;)
What are you doing to me GOG. I resisted several sales not buying the UFO series (I have one) never really played them so not sure If I actually like them. I'd also heard Cryostatis was a bit flawed. Yet you dangle the 50% off at me and I'm thinking of buying them now.
I recommend Fantasy Wars. I am currently playing it (like really right now, I just minimised it to check something here) and I like it quite a lot. It is turn-based strategy set into fantasy world (what a surprise). You have several heroes and other units. Melee, ranged, air. All of them level up and apart improving their stats you can also pick new abilities for them. Before each map you can select your army from units you gained/bought before so you can play missions with different armies.

tburger: Another weekend nothing for me. Sorry GOG.
Same here. I guess there will be a big bang when these years added games will go on sale.

Btw, for everyone who got the 1c complete pack, as far as I know you only get here Fantasy Empires and Kings Bounty drm-free.
With X-Com: UFO Defense still unplayed in my Steam account, and Xenonauts and XCOM: Enemy Unknown on the horizon, I'm having a hard time justifying buying any of the UFO games. Are any of them really that great?

... and the game is fricking hard for a gamer like me, who likes to play strategy games only from time to time. But yes, looks cool (if you don't mind ultra-green-eyes-killing grass color) and concept is really nice.

Personally I've been thinking of UFO: Aftershock, but 10 / 5 $ is too much for this game IMO. It really lacks in some areas, while still being quite enjoyable... Please GOG, bring X-COM series here!

Well, according to their page e.g. Cryostasis is also DRM-free.

Anyway, it seems to be a hit and miss with that 100€ bundle, some games in it are with DRM, some are not. That's exactly why I prefer GOG (and even DotEmu), I don't have to play inspector Clouseau to track what kind of DRM, if any, the games I buy have.

Obviously not recommended now but for 20 Euro's (the sale a few weeks ago) it was a great deal, DRM or not.
