Licurg: Anyone noticed World Rally Fever: Born on the Road is free ? I never even heard of it before :P
That wasn't planned. O_o

An obvious mistake on our part, otherwise the post would state "only $1.79 each (with two little exception)".

If you managed to take it through checkout without paying, we need to ask you to take it back to the store and drop it back into the bin! Kidding ;-) If you pulled it off, enjoy your free game, you lucky gogger, you :-)

IAmSinistar: Clearly there are a lot of good games in this sale, easily worth their normal price. Sure, it's a mixed bag of titles, but GOG may be underselling the quality with the "bargain bin" label. They are bargains though, I'll grant them that. But "bargain bin" to me usually means straight-to-DVD releases, Peter Frampton cassettes, and shoe laces featuring cartoon characters that haven't been on the air for years. This is nicer. :)
Ah, you're one of those spoiled capitalists who don't get it? ;-) To us, central-Europeans with limited budget, games bargain bin is one of the most coolestest things you can run by. Not only the prices are ridiculously low, but going through it brings the excitement of a treasure hunt. Sure, sometimes you discover the bin is filled with only the gaming equivalents of Bee Gees cover band's CDs, but most of the times you'll find yourself in luck and discover a few titles you remember fondly or never got to play despite your best intentions. Once you hit the jackpot you'll find yourself rushing home with a set of games you're genuinely excited about and happy to get at such low cost. You'll consider yourself a winner, because you managed to get the best of the bargain bin. Well, this here promo is the best of the bargain bin--you can pick and choose and whatever you might end up getting, you'll be a winner :-)
If anyone's on the fence regarding Normality, I can totally recommend it. I decided to take it for a test drive as I remembered when it came out way back when but I never had the chance to play back when it came out. I am glad I did as it's a really fun and interesting game. The puzzles aren't that hard and this is coming from a person who gets stumped by some adventure games.

I do recommend playing it in a window as Normality being a 3D game really benefits from that :)

lugum: But unfortunately not with the us voices as many requested.
AFAIK there were probably legal reasons why we don't have the U.S. voices. I say AFAIK because the game was way before my time as a GOG employee :)

tfishell: Could you at least double-check when you get a chance, please? :) EDIT: Actually I guess it'd be obvious, as GOG does try to bring all they can (extra languages, bonus content) and they probably knew many people wanted the U.S. voices.

EDIT2: Says here - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Normality_%28video_game%29#Versions - Interplay owns the rights to the U.S. version (unless that changed hands at some point). It'd definitely be nice if they'd be willing to allow the Corey Feldman version to be downloadable, if GOG were willing to pay a one-time fee or something for that. (Heck, I'd be willing to email Interplay myself, but I'm sure official GOG staff would have more sway.)
Hmmmm, that looks like a tangled web of legalese from my untrained-in-law perspective and so I doubt we'll be seeing the U.S. voices here in the future. Sorry :(

Kakihara: Just because I'm wondering and you're here now: Are legal reasons also the reason for the not having the Windows version of Phantasmagoria 2?
Usually if we don't have the Windows version, it means that we couldn't get it to work due to technical issues beyond our control :(

FlamingFirewire: When it comes to issues like that, do people still try to get it working even after it releases? The unofficial Carmageddon 1 Win95 patch works wonders on my computer setup (far better than the original DOS release on offer which lagged a ton on my computer for some reason).

I was also wondering because I have a CD copy of SimCity2000 and the Win95 version works right out of the box on my Win7 64-bit PC (after adding the proper registry entry) - whereas currently the GOG version of SimCity2000 is the DOS version.
It depends on the issue that plagues a particular game.

It may work just fine for you but can you guarantee that it will work on the machines of 2,000,000 other people? (2,000,000 is the number that was used in a statement about the unique hits per month )
