Anyone else noticed that allies are useless in fights? What's the point of having them "supposedly" fight if they don't do any damage.
For example, Keira, in that Wondering in the Dark quest, where you have to fight the Golem at the end of it, she's just a firework show, nothing more.
That's not the only one, Vesemir and that Griffin fight --yeah he's useless. Triss and Yenn on multiple occasions.

Actually, now that i think about it, i don't remember any allies doing any damage, on anything, EVER.
Pretty sure it's not a bug, just a design decision, not a bad one i guess, just an annoying one.

Ok, so i can understand why you'd have to make them invincible, but not doing any damage?
Might as well have them stand in the corner, they are blocking precious maneuvering space.

It's hard enough navigating the environment without having to also avoid your supposed allies!!!.

Keira was very usefull during fights. She kept the enemy away making it easier for me to flank and deal critical damage. Sometimes she even saved me from being chopped. Same with Triss. I wont complain.

Not true. I was getting my arse kicked by the wild hunt dude, and Keira finished him off.

Vessemir, yes, because that's tutorial material. Triss is a help, because her attacks stun or burn foes, giving you room to manoeuvre in sticky situations. Yennefer, I can't remember.

See above, re. Keira and Triss.
Plus -> Triss makes enemies explode :D Fun to watch all those intestines fly around.
Tris constantly cancelled my stuns on enemies when I was trying to counter attack them so it took longer to kill them. She wasn't just useless, but a hindrance as well!
Upon closer inspection it seems it's not for all fights, damage is minimal, but at least they doing something;
Could it be tied to the difficulty level, or just boss fights?
Earlier I said I could not remember how Yennefer fared in battle. Well, I just went through the first quest with her, about the destroyed forest in Ard Skellig, and for the sake of experiment, I hung back (didn't attack) when the Foglets spawned. She easily defeated them all, in around 4 zaps of whatever she uses, teleporting out of their way as she went. I'd say that's helpful.
all sorceresses just dont want to waste mana - they have you for dirty job!
