Altureus Have a feature that allows for MODs to be easily installed to any game that supports them. Perhaps have a feature where the top 10 mods for a game played and rated by the game community will display for each game on GOG.
verdictx The biggest reason keeping me from making GoG my shopping primary spot is mod management. I'm experienced in searching for and downloading, applying, troubleshooting (so much troubleshooting) mods, but I don't WANT to do that. +1 Nexus mod collab.

Yomatius This feature of Galaxy should be higher up. The main reason I still buy games on Steam is because of its workshop and mod integration. Games like Bannelord or Total War live or die by its mod community!

cjgonzales87 I have 2 modded GoG releases that are far superior to the Steam releases. Fallout 3 and New Vegas. I haven't had a problem yet. They both work flawlessly with the Nexus and Vortex.
Adpocalyptic NexusMods ccollab sounds interesting if you can make a GOG Workshop with it =D
ELFswe Only if it works like a third party modding tool that just installs the mod. It shouldn't be a forced feature if you wanna mod the game. You should still be able to use other tools or installers to mod it. I like what Derevo417 wrote. A collab with NexusMods would be sweet if they choose to go this way.

of to buy/not-buy a game - for me personally not so much. But in
general it would be a welcome and market expanding feature for
GOG, example: Xenonauts "CE" version.
I think, while this feature is somewhat of an NP problem, working
together (not buying!) with an established platform like NexusMods could go a long way for GOG.
NexusMods (e.g.) has already a user-client doing most of the work
for the user. Having that integrated, with feedback mechanisms
like "gog compatibility", a http-referrer (-> this comes via GOG)
and the like, while keeping GOG, and the 3rd party site separated.
The mod file(s) still can be directly loaded from the 3rd-party,
being checked with hash-value mechanisms [e.g. sha256] against
GOG hosted hash-values should guarantee non-malicious file(s)
are being transferred.
An API, between GOG & NxM (security through security, not obscurity!), transmitting an identifier (similar to e.g. http-referrer) could allow both companies to work together while keeping both independent, as well as giving their customers a secure and simple modding interface.
The comment given by "Regals" only talks about one, specific game
engine, which IMO disqualifies the comment made. BUT the problematic it raises - which would mean an overhaul of
Steam's workshop system - is valid and should be a taken into
account and answered with a solution, which in IMO is: An even
better NexusMod client (not .net based!).
Eilessa I don't agree that easy installation of mods/mod support HAS to entail forcing developers to "adjust their code". I firmly believe that there are ways around it. Especially since many mods are just about putting the mod files in the correct folder the easy installation is only about folder management which we already have by way of choosing where to install our games. I agree with Riekopo that not having mod support is the main reason I can't ditch Steam entirely in favour of GOG (which I really, REALLY want to :) )
disi I do not want anything interfere with the game, like the Steam Workshop API does. Developers need to adjust their code to work with it. Please leave games in vanilla state and have their generic support for mods across platforms.
Mods should not be a reason to buy a game and introduce yet another form a DRM, you can only install mods if you use this client software.
Yes, Nexusmods is great because it is independent!
People who want other people to create content and demand an easy way to install it and by doing so force games to work only in certain closed systems, which then dictates what people can change in a game.

It actually makes it harder to install mods considering I used like majority of people with any smarts a third party mod organizer to manage mods.

Maybe it can be like some sort of collaboration with NexusMods, because there are a ton of mods for games and they already have an API for downloading mods from their site.

Riekopo Steam Workshop is one reason I'm hesitant to buy from GOG and not Steam. If GOG had its own easy to use mod installer that would be great. They could even do one better and give it the ability to detect mod conflicts which is an ability Steam Workshop sorely lacks.
