I think it will be great if Galaxy will launch minimized (or stay in tray if already running) in case that game was launched via (desktop) shortcut.
If I'm starting game, I certainly don't need to see Galaxy's window.
Steam works that way by default.

However it will not start minimized if you open Galaxy via a shortcut, or if it starts with a game.
Therefore we want to ask you what exactly do you need in this case, so that we can investigate further? " Not sure if we need to open another wishlist and ask for the option in galaxy settings to boot minimized from shortcut. I did ask them to relay my request to the devs. so that is where it stands. cheers
mintee im confused, it says completed but still boots up and covers my desktop while it loads, forcing me to click minimize as it interrupts my work. very annoying. is it enabled or not, if not then change the 'Complete' tag pls
Padreus GOG Galaxy is a memory hog. Check your Task Manager and you will see.

jules66 Who's the funny guy who put "complete" ? For info, I even put a shortcut with the option "start minimized" in the start-up folder and it started full screen. This program just CAN'T start minimized ! Try yourself and put a shortcut on your desktop, go to properties and set it for "start minimized".

rejzor Oh cmon, how hard can it be to add damn "minimize on startup" ? Like 4 updates in the last week and they can't add this function. I have Steam and origin fire up at system start, but I can't have Galaxy because it starts open across entire desktop... Ugh

OldGrayBeard Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit. Somehow, I have Galaxy loading on startup minimized to the system tray. I cannot remember how I did it. I've checked all the Galaxy options, and msconfig, but can't recall the steps I took.

This is an essential update that must be implemented OR the client essentially becomes an intrusive startup application.

Jeryxrite I guess you can't edit your post on here but I forget to mention that I agree that the notification about the client being minimized every time needs to go as well, or at least have a "don't show this message again" option after the first time.
Jeryxrite Must have feature. I like having the client start up at windows, but give us a tick box option to have it start minimized. It's one of many programs I have on auto start on my PC but the only one that splashes the whole screen on startup. Kinda annoying when I don't want to look at it right away and have to manually close it each time. Really a basic feature and I'm surprised it isn't in already.
jan_solo I use my PC for more then gaming alone. As the matter a fact, I usually don't start gaming right away. I love the client, but having it opened full screen every time I start my computer, is kinda annoying. Please, put an option to have the galaxy client start in the system tray (at windows boot time).
Alan3 This is a must feature for me too, I don't want the client window front and centre as soon as I turn my pc on, likewise the popup bubble telling you it's minimised every time is annoying. Add this and count me a pleased.

I'll have to say: If this option will not implemented, I will possible stop using this software in future. For me the Autostart is an important feature and therefore a minimized start also.
I don't get it why really basic common behaviour is missing... (Autostart Minimized, Notification, No Features on Icon, etc pp)
earmite100 I'm surprised this doesn't have more votes. I had to do some searching, and I'm glad somebody else had mentioned this. That said, I'm sure this feature will pop up pretty soon, as it is a pretty obvious step.
derekguenther As a rider (or perhaps it should be its own request?) it should not always notify you that the app has been minimized. Usual behavior is to only do that until the user has acknowledged that it has minimized by clicking the pop-up bubble, then never do it again. Not even if the app is exited and launched again.
rejzor I don't get it why this hasn't been added at the same time as "Start with Windows". Both features depend on each-other so much it's strange to see we only got one which just makes it annoying app that you have to minimize on system startup...
Wind Sower This would be nice on the Mac client too. If GOG wants to get extra fancy, I've noticed that all of my auto-launched apps (e.g. Dropbox, 1Password, etc.) use a menubar icon to access a subset of their functions rather than auto-launching the main app (think something like the System Tray icons in Windows). This seems like an elegant solution for future consideration.
