Starkrun An option inside of our settings that allows us to filter out adult content. So we won't see it on the main site or while shopping. Most stores already have this feature and it's one GOG.com is missing. The catalog has many 18+ games in it now, and this feature is a needed addition moving forward for GOG.com.
jiminitaur GOG has become so gross to browse. Need the ability to block games and developers from showing up. I don't want my kids exposed to sexually explicit games and I don't want to be exposed to creepy weeb fantasy regardless if its R or PG13. Also at this point I've bought every game over a certain release date, and most of what is advertised to me is games I already own or have already rejected.
Let us filter our content if you won't take charge of this cesspit you've opened up.
FourierSeries This would be nice. I don't want to browse GoG anywhere all too public or on a break at work, since there are so many low effort Nudity/Sexual Content games clogging up the otherwise phenomenal sales.

This could look like mapping www.gog.com to safe.gog.com to hide NSFW content from appearing.
andrei.ionita.1902 If parental controls are too much for a huge company to implement you can go into settings and have the "Recent" tab as default tab. Your kid will still be able to go to "Discover" and see porn games in "New arrivals" but hey... one step at a time.
LordPatronWestwind I, for one, would like to stop seeing Kagura "Games," "Adult" Visual Novels, and other Low-Rent, Low-Effort Content showing up in my recommendations, because it just makes it harder to find what I'm really interested in.
RafaelRamus I've seen a recurring argument on the forum that the site is "aimed at adults only". If the site is, indeed, for "adults only", as claimed, then - at least here where I live - it is required by law that this information is clear to everyone before anyone is able to enter the site, especially those that don't have an account and are thus logged off when they do so (so they never had any contact with any "User's Agreement" document).
By advertising these games in the front page and claiming that the site is for "adults only" (that being the case) GoG is (if that's the case) asserting this as fact, and by not informing the internaut that might be just visiting the site - perhaps even for the first time - that the site is indeed for "adults only", by not requiring a log in to enter the site, nor requiring any identification (confirming age), nor offering any filters, and so on, GoG is infringing the law. No one should need to go to an obscure page where GoG has a document describing the User's Agreement to attain the knowledge that the site is "for adults only" - and it's only worse since "adults only" products keep being shown and being advertised to anyone entering the site - even those that do not have an account, and those may be children.
GoG may not be listening to us now, but we all should check your countries laws regarding this, because there may be some really big problems the way GoG is doing things nowadays.
RafaelRamus NOTE: I still think GoG should give us Filters that allow us to not see those games on our front pages and Parental Control.
My Luna comment below is just something I thought as a possible workaround until GoG fixes this.

I just came here after the announcement of the partnership between GoG and Amazon Luna. The first thing that occurred to me was that Luna has Filters and Parental Controls, so in theory you could use Luna to shop for GoG games without the Adult or NSFW tags being shown (if the partnership is good enough so that a large portion of games on GoG end up there).
Also, in theory you can gift a Luna account linked to a GoG account under your control and make it so that your children only get access to the Luna account, thus avoiding the NSFW and Adult Content games that GoG keeps posting on its front page from times to times.
I'm hopeful!
EDIT: and although Luna is not officially in several countries, I know that, at least in Brazil, it works even without a VPN (there are tutorials on YouTube on how to do it, step by step, easily).

Saint666xp Why isn't there an option for filtering mature content yet? It seems like such a simple addition that would greatly improve the user experience. I have no issues with adult content being available on the platform, but having a filter or requiring users to log in to an adult account to access such content would be a basic and responsible feature to implement. Additionally, incorporating mature content preferences (yes or no) would further enhance user control and customization.

I feel like a user setting for mature content preferences, to be used to automatically filter out titles, that have adult content (or other content such as gore, violence), from search results, would be a great idea.
Gosh, I wish for the option to filter out tags for content I don't want to see at all in general to be a feature in this store...

PlasmicRedX No thank you, I would like for Gog to filter adult content to its own adult rated section of the site, and still managed by its core team (not a separate specialist team only for adult rated side of the company).
This maintains that the adult rated content would still be what their tastes are, of what they would allow on their own site, while also maintaining the main webpage of the store being free from this said content. That way we can still use the front page, but like 4chan there will be a thing you can click on that says "NSFW Categories." 4chan has two front webpages. One is the main, primary front page, in which nsfw content is posted there. I don't like this, but I also don't like Reddit which hides it like it isn't there. 4chan also has an alterior front page, which hides nsfw content. I don't even use that one, I would prefer the main page, but for it to be more slightly more discreet. Occasionally porn advertisements play on the front page, hence we have to block that. Occasionally certain boards get through to the front page, and we have to block that. Only /pol/ board is worth using, due to id tags following people's posts, so everyone can follow a trail of breadcrumbs of who is trolling. The actual 100% anonymous boards are useless, and only effeminate tranime posting inhabits them because it's easy for them to just change how they sound on a 100% anon board. We don't want complete unaccountability. We want there to be some level of individuality on the internet, with identifiable personalities for everyone.

Also please don't include horror content with the sexual content. I shouldn't have to view a load of degenerate hentai material just because I want to purchase 'The Evil Within'. If horror content has to be filtered as well make sex and horror separate filters. Thank you.

Lidoken I come here for certain nostalgic games, not porn. Please make a setting Gog. Most feel the same way and aren't even offended by it. I don't like pornography and do, but whatever the reason it should be a setting and should be easy to implement a hide 18+ button in settings.
polysquirrel Wholeheartedly agree. I have nothing against porn games, but it seems like there have been a huge influx of them in recent months, to the point that they push out titles I may be interested in.
HOWEVER: it is not enough to filter out 'Hentai'. I want to filter out all games which also come with an 'UNRATED' version. I am not sure, is anyone buying the censored versions of erotic content at all? It seems to defeat the purpose, maybe simply let developers provide two versions for download for a single store entry? I am aware they probably would prefer the visibility, but, as is, they are risking a potentially much more heavy handed reaction to what, for many, is an issue.
DaedraEater I don't even find the content offensive insomuch as irrelevant to what I spend my cash on. No disrespect to artists who draw porn to pay the bills, I'm not a prude, but having porn games fill up the "new to GOG" sections when I log on over Galaxy or on my browser is honestly just annoying more than anything. I really wish that the devs would listen to their community asking for an option to filter these titles from view, especially on a main splash page. Again, I have no problem with this content being listed for interested buyers yadda yadda yadda, but JFC can we please get options to filter content from our main feeds that we don't want to see? Adult games and other content ratings as filters should really not be a purposeful oversight for a platform as popular & containing as deep a catalog for purchase as GOG. StormKMD It is ridiculous to me that this is not an option and that GOG has decided not to do this. You already have the ability to hide certain tags in your store, so obviously you have these games properly categorized. There are so many porn games on this website, so please add an option in settings to disable them. This should be on by default like Steam. Absolutely ridiculous.
waynebaron I'm with the others commenting here. This should not be difficult you guys. There's no reason to alienate your customers with material that you know some people will find offensive. Find a way to give people a choice to opt in/out and problem solved. Not sure why this is so difficult.

That being said, I don't understand why some of the users here are complaining about exposing that content to children. As per the GOG user agreement, you must be at least 16 yo to use GOG legally. And even at 16-17, they still need their parents' permission to use the site.
If you're letting your < 16 yo kids browse GOG, you are legally breaking terms of their contract and they should not be held liable for your awful parenting decisions.
Xerosouldier I’ve personally made the decision to today to remove GoG Galaxy from mine and my daughter’s PC and have instead decided to move to Steam. Not because I love Steam more but because it has just become to likely for sex games to pop up on this platform. I’m totally fine with the genre and GoG selling it but my screen simply can’t be full of half naked, questionably adult looking anime girls every time I load the app or visit the store. I hope you guys consider improving filters and parental controls in the future but for now I have likely purchased my last game here.
Serpent1989 Personally, I have nothing against adult content, here in my hometown Berlin, Germany we even have a special room on the second floor of the Old Museum with a quite impressive collection of ancient pornographic images, known as “The Garden of Delights”, so it was truly always there since the existence of mankind and I have also read once that even pornographic cave paintings do exist. Yet, I do understand why so many users are demanding a filter for adult content on GOG. You know, normally I just ignore it, although I do admit that I am annoyed of all these Kagura games on here, which are made within just two minutes with the RPG Maker and are then filled with unrealistic female depictions, having breasts as large as planet Jupiter. Funny, being a German user, if I click on certain games or at the links to their unrated patches, I am being thrown back right to the start page of GOG, on which the games are often enough advertised, and some of the games mentioned here, like “Lust Academy” or “Inside Jennifer” give me no search results, when I enter the titles into the search bar, lol.
Of course, today’s pornography, including in video games, comes with certain dangers. A few years ago, I have read an article about men that do not evolve any feelings anymore, when looking at a real living woman, as their minds are already too much focused on those animated Hentai girls, which give you an extremely unrealistic outlook on females, not to mention the fact that those games also degrade us men, by making the world believe that we all hunt for extremely young, barely legal women with overly inflated breasts and butts, while we are all dudes on steroids with massive members. It is all a lie, of course, but pornography was already a lie in the first place.
I do not demand from GOG to include any filter for adult video games, but I do understand why so many other users are demanding it. Maybe I would think quite different about this topic if I would have any children, but then you will need to implement a filter that is password protected, so that the children cannot get around it. Yet, I do not believe that in the eyes of the GOG staff all of this is worth the programming trouble, so I guess they rely on you just ignoring it, which I personally can do with no problem during most of the time, except if you just enter the starting page and the first thing you have to see are advertisements of said games, popping right up at the start, which is obviously extremely hard to ignore, if not even impossible.
BravePip I want this filter too, I don't see how Steam can have it effectively implemented and GoG doesn't. Just browsing through one of their main page sales for this week (Dec 5-12) for jrpgs, it feels like more than half the games in the sale are rpg maker shovelware porn.

Just bought Torchlight 2 on Steam instead of GOG during the sale. Now just checking back once or twice a month to spend the rest of my wallet balance somehow, then it's goodbye to GOG for good.
And even now, there is a gigantic 18+ game banner right on the front page. Ridiculous.

braarudosphaera You can give feedback in GOG and I'd strongly recommend everyone does. This never used to bother me as I'd just scroll past them but now I have kids showing an interest in gaming and 'Fetish Locator' is on the front page. I didn't know what to say when my 4 year old kid asked what the lady is doing. They either add a filter or I stop letting my kids near GOG and switch to Steam where this has been a standard option for years.
Zephonarch We definitely need an Ignore, or Block feature for Gog since Steam already has it.
Right now, we only have a Tag feature that lets us choose specific tags to view AND whether we want those tags we set to be hidden. That needs to be set to user-specified profiles. Not everyone wants to see nsfw stuff cause they have children to worry about, or addictions to avoid so... just give us more individual options Gog. More freedom is good and keeps customers loyal to your platform.

a_real_user_name How is this not a feature yet? On Steam I can just add an exclusion and it stops spamming them in the shop results. This isn't just a matter of law and morality, how does it help a store to show me content I have no interest in buying? On Steam I can go even further and filter out other genres that do my interest me such as MMOs or freemium games.
The bare minimum here is to add an adult content filter to restore the prior state of the storefront for those not looking for pornographic content.

MarkoH01 What we need is a filter for EVERY genre. We don't need to discriminate NSFW stuff - it's a genre some like and some dislike, nothing more and nothing less. I can't give this y vote because I am against discrimination. I would vote if this would be a wishlist for a customizable block filter.

How do you measure what is adult?
I rember a lot of games which were fine for kids in release country but were a no go in my one.
In Germany any kind of Nazi symbols is banned. It is illegal to sell a game with the original National Flag of Germany if it is the one of 1938. Diplay red dots for blood in a shooters was reasons for: adult only!. The same dots in green, the officals were fine with 14+.
Splatter is OK for kids in US it is a No Go in Germany. Low cut or even naked breast(s) dresses for women in no adult game is OK in Germany but No Go in the US.
I do not dare to think how the rules will chnce in future. Just think about gay partnerships.

DyNaer The problem is many tags are actually broken. GOG's team fixes your tags first...I don't see a problem to implementing a mature content filter in user options after that.

Take a good long look at the titanic history-making pushback against Disney, Lucasfilm, Marvel, DC, Anheuser-Busch, and Molson Coors in response to their pushing a highly inappropriate adult agenda in their products! They are the canary in the coal mine indicating that people world-wide are fed up with this garbage. "Get woke; go broke" is not a trendy catch-phrase. It is an economic force of nature. Gog could avoid this storm by simply adding a content filter to GogGalaxy; Gog comes across as being fair, those who want adult content can have it, and the rest of us can block it. Everybody walks away from the table as winners.
