Add Mac and Linux version of those games that already have it. in progress
Please add the Atari Recharged games. Steam has MacOS versions.
Yes, very frustrating for me. I can't play my copy of Metro 2033 Redux on Linux, because of graphical glitches with WINE/Proton that are yet to be fixed. All 3 Metro games have a Linux port on Steam, but not on GOG. I bought the whole trilogy + DLC on GOG so I could play them in order. But because there is no Linux port on GOG, it means I can't even play the game. Same goes with many games in my GOG library. Linux ports are on Steam, but not on GOG. Fair enough if the Linux port that exists is old and doesn't work on modern Linux systems, but if they do, why can't they just be added?. If it's up to the developers, then you, GOG; you should be requesting the missing platform versions to be added by the developer. Don't have to spam or bug them about it; Just request it to them, and respect their decision if they tell you no.
+1
Please add the Mac/Linux versions of Old World and Blasphemous. It is depressing to miss out on GOG sales and have to buy DRM versions for cross-platform support.
I'm just starting to get into gaming on a Mac. Over the years I've transitioned more and more of my library from Steam to GOG, even re-buying games here for the DRM free. It's a horrible feeling to find I need to go the opposite way and rebuy old games like "Life is Strange" because GOG doesn't have the Mac version.
Bioshock Infinite also has a Linux port on Steam but isn't available on GOG
Please provide the official linux and mac ports of Overlord and Overlord II. (The games were made by Triumph Studios and ported by Virtual Programming.) Buyers on steam can download them there but that puts your customers at a "disadvantage".
this doesn't make any sense for games with mac releases on other platforms, should be straightforward
Talos Principle available for Mac and Linux on Steam but not on GoG
King's Bounty: Crossworlds is available Win and Mac on Steam, only Win on GOG. That's disappointing :(
I'm amaze by the fact that the games requiring DosBox are only released as a windows only...
It's not like DosBox is made too be multi-platform... /s
So now, if I want to play a Dos game from gog, I have to download the GOG windows installer, extract it, then I can point my dosbox to the game... I mean... why ?
I would love to see Dying Light get a Linux GOG version.
It seems that there are a lot MORE games with Linux versions on Steam and not on GOG recently. Tooth and Tail, Everspace and a ton more. This is a sad situation.
*cough*Torchlight*cough*
Thanks for adding the Mac versions of Syberia & Syberia 2.
Please also add old ports, e.g. for older versions of Windows, original DOS versions, Mac OS (System 6, System 7, Mac OS 8 and 9) and Mac OS X on PowerPC.
Anyt port that ever was on the market (or off the market) should be available with the purchase of a modern verion of the game (which runs on current operating systems).
So I discovered "Banished" from an old YouTube series of one of my favorite YouTubers and I was so psyched because it looked so cool; the interface was amazing, and it seemed like it would be so fun to play. You guys have the lowest price (*$20*) I've found and I was going to download it until I saw that it only runs on Windows.... :| ... and I have a Mac... I see that there's ways to use specific software to install these games *cough cough* CrossOver *cough cough*... but i really don't feel like paying EXTRA money for one game... plus I'm not much of a computer person, so I have no idea how to use the other alternatives even with tutorials. It'd be just so much easier to be able to play these games with a Mac and without having to use these programs, I'd gladly pay the $20 for Banished here. Also I don't have a Linux but it's the same situation for Linux users. *P.S. I can't just get a Windows computer itself, I already have a Mac.* Thanks!
Exactly, and don't forget Dying Light. I am dying to have that games Linux version come to GOG, I have no idea why it's not already. It doesn't make any damn sense.
Now that they added Simcity 3000 Unlimited here. It would be awesome if they could find a legal way to also add the Simcity 3000 Unlimited Linux port, made by Loki Games.
Especially add Linux/Mac for games that have had ports in the past, wether official or not (like almost all id Software games, some Epic games etc).
With Windows 10 Microsoft is steadily turning my *Personal* Computer into a Microsoft-owned system filled with advertisements and deeply suspicious telemetry. Even for games that is rapidly becoming unacceptable; Windows 8 will probably be my last Windows purchase, until the hardware dies. Time for an alternative: Linux!
YES please make linux versions. Because dualboot is a pain and microsoft wants to break our games.
Another "Me too!" I just bought the runic bundle assuming it included the Linux version of Torchlight. My fault for assuming, but I do feel a little like a rube now.
I agree with this wish
I'd buy 'Dex' immidiatly, but i guess i will have to wait... On steam i could already get it for Linux. I hope they add it before the end oft the sale :|
100% agree with the original post. Several of the games I own on GOG are only available on Windows here, but are available on Mac OS X elsewhere (Steam, Humble Bundle). Here's my list right now:
* Dark Eye: Chains of Santinav
* Jagged Alliance - DG
* King's Bounty - Warriors of the North
* King's Bounty - Dark Side
* The Last Express
* Syberia
* Syberia 2
* The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing I & II
Hai! I agree! If Linux versions exist, then GOG needs to get them all! ^_^
Relevant to the discussion. List of Linux versions missing: www.gog.com/mix/games_that_have_native_linux_portselsewhere
Keep the good work gog!
A linux version of postal 2 without the DRM would be fantastic.
Superfrog HD is another example where a Linux version is available on Steam but unfortunately not on GOG.
Metro 2033 Redux & Last Light Redux are still missing the Linux versions. As is Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II.
Hello everyone !
I just downloaded the linux version of baldur's gate and installed it on my void linux Operating System. The problem is that it's a 64bits distro and the game is delivered with a 32 bits version of wine inside.
Is it possible to use the wine version of my distro instead of yours? If yes is there some tweaks to do to make it work? (Maybe a 64 bits version of linux games is on it's way at Good Old Games but for the moment I will try to deal with it if there is a solution )
I've been seeing Linux versions of games popping up in my library recently, which is great. Thank you GoG! Is it possible to have some kind of list of games you're working to bring to Mac/Linux so we can see what you will be supporting once it's ready?
I'll always buy games here if they are available before searching elsewhere and if I could see one was going to become available in six months say I'd wait until I could get it from here.
We're adding all the mac & Linux versions we can get :)
Yes please!
Also applies to Postal 2.
SMAC has a Linux client, but it might be really hard to find or get running.
There are way too many examples of this. I have a whole category in my library called "Linux Port Elsewhere." But I'm not convinced it's GOG's fault. I'm inclined to think it's the devs of said games not being bothered to provide the Linux or Mac build for a particular game.
Neverwinter Nights (+expansions) had native linux client as well. And especially the dedicated server is missing.
