When I played Ender Lilies a few years ago, I was blown away by its combination of stellar graphics, and soundtrack in a dark fantasy setting that actually delivers gameplay through RPG and Metroidvania elements that feel satisfying. Its one of the best modern Metroidvanias out there. Seeing it and its sequel Ender Magnolia on GOG would be thrilling to have it DRM-free.
The atmosphere in this game is phenomenal. Genuinely one of the best I've ever experienced, with the emotional piano OST and beautiful weather effects. You can actually feel the gradual progression of your character and environments changing, and it's incredible.
I'm not usually a fan of metroidvania games, but I ended up enjoying all aspects of this game. Yes, it's souls-like, but you don't lose anything everytime you die. You also get to freely experiment with tons of abilities throughout the game as you clear more bosses. Despite some difficulty spikes with certain fights and areas, I never felt too frustrated or as though something was overly cheap. I'm not going to pretend every area or boss is perfect, but I do think they did a relatively good job of balancing things and keeping the gameplay smooth and fluid.
Seriously, just buy this game when it finally comes out on GOG and try it out for yourself (if you don't mind a bit of difficulty to reach some amazingly breathtaking areas).
Digimon Story: Cyber SleuthDigimon Story: Cyber Sleuth, developed by Media.Vision and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment, and based on the Digimon franchise. It is the fifth game in the Digimon Story series, following 2011's Super Xros Wars, and the first to be released on home consoles. Digimon World DSDigimon World DS, known in Japan as Digimon Story (デジモンストーリー Dejimon Sutōrī?), is a role-playing video game and the first Digimon game for the Nintendo DS. It is not part of the Digimon World series, as suggested by its localized title, but the game does bears a resemblance to Digimon World 3.
In the game, the player assumes the role of a Digimon tamer and embarks on a journey to discover, tame, raise, train and command more than 230 unique Digimon. The player can build Digi-Farms to raise, evolve and communicate with the Digimon. Using Wi-Fi and local DS wireless connection, players can interact by exchanging Digimon, engaging in battles, and pooling resources to create rare types of Digimon.
To date, the game has spawned four sequels in Digimon World Dawn and Dusk, Digimon Story Lost Evolution, Digimon Story: Super Xros Wars Red and Blue, and Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth.
