Far Cry 3 and Far Cry 4 were the period of peak Far Cry. Solid graphics, great protagonists, matured combat, and no woke. Both games are old and are a perfect match for Good Old Games.
Far Cry 4 is my desert island/forever game. I own it on Xbox 360, PS3, PS4, PC DVD-ROM (Complete Edition) and Steam. It is my most consistently played PC video game and has been so for the last half decade, just below Dying Light 1 and MechWarrior 5 Mercs in actual play time. I've even started playing it on my Steam Deck OLED which runs the game very well at MEDIUM to HIGH settings. I don't know how or why but I have never grown tired of replaying this game and not only that, it is the only game I enjoy restarting from complete zero. All of my other most favorite/played games need to have some form of either a NG+ mode (DL and MW5M) or method of horizontal cross-save progression (DL using MP, Grim Dawn and Terraria) or easy cheats/console commands. For me the Far Cry series go's as follows: - #1. Far Cry 4 - #2. Far Cry Primal - #3. Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon - #4. Far Cry 2 - #5. Far Cry 3 - #6. Far Cry 5 - I sincerely doubt Ubisoft in their current state as of February 2025 will ever re-publish any of their games on this platform, which is particularly painful for me as the Far Cry series has always been my #1 desired addition to GOG. With my #2 being the Mechwarrior series.

I remember back in 2014 watching a streamer play as a tiger taking down what looked like tribesmen in scary masks, and I was intrigued. If I recall correctly, that was only a minor part of the gameplay in what otherwise looked like both an action- and story-filled adventure in the breathtaking mountains of somewhere between Nepal and Pakistan. The graphics looked very good, the major characters were believable and well written and well realized, and it looked like there were real stakes between the two factions. I don't know if I saw it then or later but the main villain also looked as charismatic and memorable as Vaas in Far Cry 3, though with a rational twist. I hope someday I will be able to play this game from GOG without DRM and without the Ubisoft launcher.
Those games also need your vote!
Phantasy Star Gaiden
Phantasy Star GaidenPhantasy Star Gaiden is a Sega Game Gear released as part of the Phantasy Star franchise. It was only released in Japan. Phantasy Star Gaiden plays pretty much like any other Phantasy Star starting with the second game: both towns and dungeons are in top-down view, the turn-based battles are viewed from first-person perspective. The gameplay is standard console-style RPG: you should fight random enemies, gain experience and gold, buy better equipment, visit many towns and dungeons, etc.

Ecco 2: Sentinels of the Universe
Ecco 2: Sentinels of the UniverseEcco 2: Sentinels of the Universe was a planned sequel to Ecco the Dolphin: Defender of the Future for Dreamcast that got canceled around the time SEGA announced that they would be stopping production on the console and focus on being a third-party developer. Given the fact that the first game was later ported to the Sony Playstation 2 later the same year, it’s not clear why Appaloosa Interactive decided to stop development on the sequel, rather than port it to PlayStation 2 as they did with the first game. The game was uncovered to the public in 2016 by Hidden Palace, a wiki community dedicated to video game development preservation. This build comes from a Katana Dreamcast development kit. The discs were included along with the kit. The game features "a few playable level via level select with a complete working debug mode," but there is no music or sound in them.

Resident Evil Survivor 2 Code: Veronica
Resident Evil Survivor 2 Code: VeronicaResident Evil Survivor 2 Code: Veronica is a first-person shooter video game and the second installment in the Gun Survivor series. As in most lightgun games, the objective is to make it through an environment while shooting enemies. It is somewhat less typical in that you have full roaming control over your character rather than being stuck on rails. More unusually, a timer begins as you enter each area. If the timer runs out before you leave, Nemesis will appear and chase you.

Phantasy Star Adventure
Phantasy Star AdventureThis game is a Japanese-style adventure game set in the Phantasy Star universe. The player interacts with the game world by choosing available options such as "See", "Talk", "Move", etc. There are a few puzzles to solve and a few encounters with hostile characters (in a "pseudo-RPG" turn-based fashion), but the largest part of the game is dedicated to exploration and dialogue with the characters.

Lost Planet: Extreme Condition
Lost Planet: Extreme ConditionThe game is played through a third person over-the-shoulder view. Players are allowed to switch between first person and third person at any moment. Players either travel on foot or ride various types of mechanized suits called Vital Suits (VSs). VSs carry heavy weapons such as chainguns and rocket launchers. They can pick up weapons lying on the ground and fire multiple weapons at once. On foot, players are able to use a grappling hook to pull themselves up to normally hard-to-reach places, or to hook onto a VS and hijack it. Driving VSs and using certain weapons requires thermal energy. Also, the planet's cold temperature causes the characters' thermal energy level to continually decrease. Players can replenish their thermal energy level by defeating enemies or activating data posts. Data posts also allow players to use their navigational radars to see incoming enemies. Each of the 11 levels is accompanied by a boss, which can be either a VS or a large Akrid.
