Germs has incredible design that hearkens back to the masterfully crafted Batman and Robin for the Sony PlayStation; Check the computer at your base for info on what's new, Go to locations and investigate. But this really doubles down on two aspects, the world is entirely handcrafted and unique looking, and there's a large focus on investigation, via talking to people, something entirely absent from the much vaunted Batman and Robin. With a wide range of immersive simulation elements such as driving, active gps, working massage parlors and hospitals, map stores, restaurants with dynamic menus that change based on time of day, in addition to a wide variety of weapons, melee, guns, etc., etc.. Simply put, Germs is a game quite unlike anything else, one of the greatest videogames I've ever played, but it's plagued with a serious problem, it barely manages to run on its original system, borderline requiring being emulated with 190% cpu overclock to be playable, it should have always been on PC. I think everyone would love this game if given the chance, and I hope GoG gives everyone the chance.

It's kino..................................................................................................................................................... 🙂
Altho we could say some games did the open world in 3D before this one, such as Body Harvest or the incredible overlooked Mizzurna Falls with its very Twin Peaks inspiration, both from 1998, it doesn't take away from Germs from 1999, in such short window 3 games have pushed the boundaries in technology and ambitious, while Body Harvest keeps it very arcade and surface and Mizzurna Falls in more cinematic details and third person view, Germs stands out as doing the 3D open world in also great details but all in first person view, bringing a level of ambitious that the other two don't have with for example when getting into vehicule seeing the inside, while the mechanics makes it hard, to see a 1999 videogame do that with the freewill to drive around is historical, this game needs to be restored and get a new life! vote up!
Those games also need your vote!
Silent Hill
Silent HillSilent Hill is the first installment in the Silent Hill series of psychological survival horror video games. Unlike earlier survival horror games that focused on protagonists with combat training, the main character Harry Mason is an average man. The gameplay consists of combat, exploration, and puzzle-solving. The controller vibration is used to indicate Harry's heartbeat and will vibrate on low health. The player must regularly enter an inventory screen to check Harry's health, use items, and equip different weapons.

FreelancerEight hundred years prior to the start of our story, bitter conflict divided all of mankind. A handful of colonists struck out on their own to begin anew - far away from the Earth and its turmoil. Several ships were launched with enough equipment and supplies to give the hundreds onboard a fighting chance - but since the area around far-off Sirius had never been surveyed, no one really knew what to expect. What they found was a new frontier of free-flowing natural resources, unexplored territories, great wonders and lurking dangers. Each ship, representing the clusters of people and their earthly place of origin, settled into different parts of the galaxy pre-selected by their ship-board computer to give them the best chance of survival. Life was hard in the beginning, but over the 800 years the different colonies prospered and expanded their territories, claiming more and more systems for their own. Survival and propagation eventually led to growth and profit as each of the colonies developed specialties and fostered commerce. As the colonies grew and time passed their connections with their roots on Earth dwindled and they lost their memories of the conflicts of the past. Soon their attention was dominated by new, more immediate conflicts. Feelings of lost ancestral connection spurred anachronism in the look of the great cities, and created a somewhat distorted image of each colony's cultural heritage. In the ever-expanding outer edge of the territories, frontier lawlessness prevailed. The Houses: Each shipboard colony that left Earth carried some memory of its origins in its name. The Liberty carried Americans, The Bretonia flew from The United Kingdom and surrounding territory, The Kusari from Asia, and the Rheinland launched with Germanic cargo. As each ship settled and colonies began to expand, they knew little about each other and their advancing development. Finally, little by little, the individual colonies found each other and began to set up trade routes to link their systems for commerce and solidarity. Today, with each colony firmly rooted in its respective corner of the galaxy, the colonies rely heavily on each other for trade and industry but also compete for resources and new territories in the Border Worlds. The colonies mandate member governments in "The New Alliance" within the Sirius sector. To control conflicts, each colony has forged alliances and treaties with others as they have grown. Competition remains fierce, however. Struggles rage for supremacy in business, commerce, resources, power and control. There can be tenuous peace between colonies' political agendas, but the grabs for holdings constantly unsettle the volatile frontier.

Aquanaut's Holiday: Hidden Memories
Aquanaut's Holiday: Hidden MemoriesThe actual story mode of the game can be compared to an adventure game. The main - unnamed - character is a journalist, in search of the missing oceanographer William "Bill" Graber. Using a submarine called the Dolphin no.2 you explore the seas for clues. The game takes place in Kisira Atoll, in Polynesia. An oceanographic research facility named Kisira Base is the starting point and where you always come back to, for supplies (such as batteries for sonar navigation buoys) and equipment. Two scientists work at the base, the young and dreamy Jessica Porter and the conservative chief Robert Kemelman. Both assist you in solving mysteries, each in their own way. Jessica likes to believe fairytales and legends, while Robert usually comes up with a scientific explanation. All the fish, animals and other discoveries are added to a database. Some fish can communicate and the player has to repeat the sounds made by a fish, using the four trigger buttons of the Sixaxis controller. At all times, the unlocked area of the map is free to explore as you like.

Silent Hill: Origins
Silent Hill: OriginsSilent Hill: Origins is the fifth installment in the Silent Hill survival horror series, and a prequel to the original game. As in the previous entries, the player move back and forth between nightmare and real versions of the town, gathering items used to solve puzzles and open up new areas. Monsters of various types provide obstacles and, in series tradition, are mostly disturbingly twisted versions of humanity. The main character can fight with his bare fists or use melee weapons. Unlike previous games in the series, melee weapons break after a time. There are also one-shot items that can be thrown and several guns. There is no HUD, but the edge of the screen turns red when the protagonist is near death.
