No real story to tell, other than while searching for "best space shooter games" this game came up on Reddit, as really good. Truth be told, I'm old (mid-60's) and for the most part Suck at (difficult) gaming (excluding racing titles, I can Drive!), so I really like "pick up and play" type space shooters, the really easy ones especially, such as the Arcade option in the old and original Incoming game. What could be "perfect for me" (?) might be a combination of Starlancer with the arcade Incoming game, which is wanting much more speed for the various aircraft, newer better graphics (but even as simple as the Incoming graphics are, the colors and flare effects are still great looking, to me anyway). The GOG version made Incoming that much more enjoyable in not needing the annoying CD to play, even though I had purchased several CD copies in the past (dirt cheap, a couple of bucks each, roughly). With this being my first such comment here at GOG, if there's a way to "reply" (that I would know about?) I'd love some other ideas from someone with similar taste in space shooter games (Everspace is a likely possibility, especially on sale here right now).
Those games also need your vote!
EF 2000
EF 2000Made by the same team that produced TFX, this simulation focuses on the Eurofighter 2000. Set in a fictional campaign against Russia, you are called into action when a Russian force attempts to take control of Norway and Sweden as a foothold to an invasion of northern Europe. You'll play through a variety of randomly-generated missions ranging from patrols to ground strikes. Included as well is a fairly extensive multi-player support, including network and modem play.

Mega Man X8 16-bit
Mega Man X8 16-bitA fan game made by AlyssonDaPaz. Bringing the original PS2 classic, MegaMan X8 back to it's 16-bit roots! Play as X and blast through a familiar yet fresh experience! Mega Man X8 16-bit is a reimagining of the PS2 original with SNES styled graphics. The aim was to demake X8 in a similar feel to the first three Mega Man X games, while trying to actually finish a low-scope fangame. After two and a half years of development, version 1.0 was released in September 7th 2024, making the game fully playable from start to finish with X, but Zero and Axl are not featured in the game in any capacity. In addition to the 16-bit graphics, the game differs from the original game by offering slightly different level designs at times, armor effects, and boss weapons.
