Story:Perfect Dark is a first-person shooter video game developed by Rare and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo 64 video game console. It is considered the spiritual successor to Rare's earlier first-person shooter GoldenEye 007, with which it shares many gameplay features. Perfect Dark was first released in North America on 22 May 2000; PAL and NTSC-J releases followed soon afterwards. A separate Game Boy Color game, also titled Perfect Dark, was released in August 2000 as a supplement to the game and allows certain features within the Nintendo 64 game to alternatively be unlocked via a Transfer Pak. The game features a single-player mode consisting of 17 main missions in which the player assumes the role of Carrington Institute agent Joanna Dark as she attempts to stop a conspiracy by rival corporation dataDyne. It also features a range of multiplayer options, including a co-operative mode and traditional deathmatch settings. Technically, it is one of the most advanced games developed for the Nintendo 64, with an optional high resolution graphics mode and Dolby Surround Sound. A Nintendo 64 Expansion Pak is required to access the game's campaign and most of the multiplayer features.Show more

Probably the best first-person shooter on the Nintendo 64. There's a great deal of weapon variety, and the multiplayer is really fun with friends. I'm kind of surprised Microsoft already done a re-release of this game on here already using the fan-made source port.
Why Perfect Dark Is the Best N64 FPS and Belongs on GOG Perfect Dark, released in 2000 for the Nintendo 64, is widely considered the spiritual successor to GoldenEye 007, but it does more than follow in its footsteps—it surpasses them. Developed by Rare, Perfect Dark pushed the N64 hardware to its limits with unmatched technical sophistication, deep gameplay, and a sci-fi narrative that was ahead of its time. At its core, Perfect Dark revolutionized first-person shooters on consoles. With customizable multiplayer, AI bots, co-op campaign, and a compelling single-player story, it provided a level of depth that few console FPS games had achieved. Joanna Dark became an instant icon—smart, deadly, and charismatic. The game's weapons were unique and satisfying, including the laptop gun (a sentry disguised as a laptop) and the FarSight, a railgun that could shoot through walls. These mechanics set it apart from GoldenEye and every other shooter at the time. It absolutely deserves a spot on GOG. Not just for preservation’s sake, but to give modern gamers access to a DRM-free, enhanced version of a legendary title. A faithful PC port would allow it to shine with higher resolutions, modern controls, and mod support. GOG’s dedication to bringing classic games back to life makes it the perfect platform. Perfect Dark isn’t just a nostalgic gem—it’s a landmark in FPS history. Making it available on GOG would preserve one of the greatest shooters of all time and introduce it to a new generation of players.

I would absolutely love to see Perfect Dark (Nintendo 64 version) preserved on GOG. This game is an absolute classic! One of the greatest and most fun FPS experiences ever made. I spent countless hours laughing and playing with my friends in multiplayer, bots with unique personalities that made every match feel fresh and unpredictable. The single-player campaign, the weapons, the atmosphere... everything about it was groundbreaking at the time and still holds up today. Perfect Dark deserves a place among preserved classics without a doubt. It’s a piece of gaming history that should be made available for new generations to discover and for old fans to revisit. Please, GOG, consider bringing this incredible game into your collection!!

Freelancer
FreelancerEight hundred years prior to the start of our story, bitter conflict divided all of mankind. A handful of colonists struck out on their own to begin anew - far away from the Earth and its turmoil. Several ships were launched with enough equipment and supplies to give the hundreds onboard a fighting chance - but since the area around far-off Sirius had never been surveyed, no one really knew what to expect. What they found was a new frontier of free-flowing natural resources, unexplored territories, great wonders and lurking dangers. Each ship, representing the clusters of people and their earthly place of origin, settled into different parts of the galaxy pre-selected by their ship-board computer to give them the best chance of survival. Life was hard in the beginning, but over the 800 years the different colonies prospered and expanded their territories, claiming more and more systems for their own. Survival and propagation eventually led to growth and profit as each of the colonies developed specialties and fostered commerce. As the colonies grew and time passed their connections with their roots on Earth dwindled and they lost their memories of the conflicts of the past. Soon their attention was dominated by new, more immediate conflicts. Feelings of lost ancestral connection spurred anachronism in the look of the great cities, and created a somewhat distorted image of each colony's cultural heritage. In the ever-expanding outer edge of the territories, frontier lawlessness prevailed. The Houses: Each shipboard colony that left Earth carried some memory of its origins in its name. The Liberty carried Americans, The Bretonia flew from The United Kingdom and surrounding territory, The Kusari from Asia, and the Rheinland launched with Germanic cargo. As each ship settled and colonies began to expand, they knew little about each other and their advancing development. Finally, little by little, the individual colonies found each other and began to set up trade routes to link their systems for commerce and solidarity. Today, with each colony firmly rooted in its respective corner of the galaxy, the colonies rely heavily on each other for trade and industry but also compete for resources and new territories in the Border Worlds. The colonies mandate member governments in "The New Alliance" within the Sirius sector. To control conflicts, each colony has forged alliances and treaties with others as they have grown. Competition remains fierce, however. Struggles rage for supremacy in business, commerce, resources, power and control. There can be tenuous peace between colonies' political agendas, but the grabs for holdings constantly unsettle the volatile frontier.

Super Cars
Super CarsSuper Cars is a top-view racing game from Gremlin Interactive, who later produced the Lotus series of games. Stylistically, the game is influenced by Super Sprint. There are 9 tracks at each of the 4 difficulty levels, which can be raced in any order (although the last track you race is made harder than usual). In the races you win money, which can be spent on temporary handling and power upgrades, plus armour plating and front/rear shooting missiles that can knock out other racers. The player must finish in the top 3 of each race to progress - initially there are 4 computer opponents, but more are added as you progress through the game. The car can be upgraded throughout the game via the shop section. The player is given an initial price, but also a number of options of things to say to the salesman - with the right combination, the price will drop.

Wolfenstein
WolfensteinWolfenstein is the direct sequel to Return to Castle Wolfenstein and Spear of Destiny/Wolfenstein RPG. It featured a "re-imagined" disguised dark-haired B.J. Blazkowicz, retaining the unshaven look seen in Return to Castle Wolfenstein and dressed in civilian clothes rather than his usual military uniform. The game mainly consists of the player shooting his way through hordes of different types of Nazis, ranging from normal soldier to ninjas. To deal with the large amount of enemies, the player has access to many typical WWII-weapons like the German MP40 or K98 rifle. In addition, during the course of the game he finds the medallion and learns four powers. While at first entering the Veil only allows him so see enemies more clearly and use strange flying creatures as bombs, he is later able to slow down time, surround himself with a protective shield or make himself stronger. However, the medallion's powers drain its energy, which needs to be refilled at power-spots that are nearly invisible in the real world.
