Story:Become Ruler of the World by establishing and leading a civilization from the dawn of man into the space age: Wage war, conduct diplomacy, discover new technologies, go head-to-head with some of history’s greatest leaders and build the most powerful empire the world has ever known.
This has been my very first "proper/main game" Civilization, coming from Civilization Revolution on the Xbox 360. This introduced me to the very rich strategy game and I'd love to have this game permanently preserved along with its predecessors (III and IV already being on GOG). The broad choice in characters and nations, the snappy gameplay, the absolute power of the end-game weapons and of course Gandhi making its appearance.
I remember watching my dad play "Civ3", but this ("Civ5") was my first "Civ" game. And I believe it's the last of the "Civ" games, because every next game has turned away from being "Civ" and trying to copy a lot of other games (and I think that the quality has decreased)
My favorite history themed chess game
Among my top 5 games of all time I play regularly. Only reason wanting it from gog is the value of genuinely owning it and escaping DRM issues of the future. GimmegimmegimmeGoG!
