Story:"This is Commander Bagdasarian of space frontier colony Delta 5-5. We have been overrun. I repeat, we have been overru....." The recording ended in a wash of static. "That's all we've got." The dispatcher spoke with the deliberate and unemotional tone that always signified trouble. "As Regional Marshall it's up to you. We don't want anything fancy here, not another 'Ganymede Incident.' Just find out if there are any survivors and get them out. This was Settler Plot. You know... families." "Children?" "Yes." "Damn!" Thus you enter The Colony and embark on an adventure so real you become part of the surroundings. Explore labs, computer rooms, halls, offices, and homes in real-time 3-D as you investigate a colony suddenly bereft of human life. Outfitted with the latest in Power Armor technology, you soon discover that it will take more than force to get out alive.Show more

The Colony was one of the first 3D FPS Adventure games on Mac, PC, and Amiga. I spent hours playing this game but never solved it. David Alan Smith (the developer) has since released the game's source on Github, but it would be nice to have a compiled version that ran well on modern systems. Many write-ups of the game (including the one on Wikipedia) state that the DOS version was black and white only. Not true! With the right hardware, the DOS version was in color. Players could toggle between two display modes - wireframe and filled polygon.

Gundam 0079: The War for Earth
Gundam 0079: The War for EarthGundam 0079: The War for Earth is a video game developed for PC, Macintosh and the Bandai Pippin in 1996 and on Sony PlayStation in 1997. The game has the unique distinction of being the only official and commercially released Gundam video game developed by a United States game developer. The War for Earth was developed by the 1990s game developer Presto Studios, a company whose most famous work was the Journeyman Project series of adventure games as well as co-developing Myst III: Exile. During the period in which this game was released, the interactive movie genre which had begun in 1982 was beginning to subside as PC and console games with realtime rendered 3D were overtaking the genre. While it was the only game produced by Presto Studios in this format, the use of live-action footage featuring real actors combined with computer generated backgrounds and effects, as well as the use of entirely pre-rendered computer graphics was common among the majority of the studio's games. For the Japanese release, the game's voiceovers were dubbed in Japanese featuring the original cast reprising the voices of their characters, with minimal attempts at lip syncing.

Golden Axe
Golden AxeProgress is made through the game by fighting through Death Adder's henchmen, including men armed with clubs and maces, skeleton warriors, and knights. Players are able to attack using their weapon, jump and cast spells that hurt all enemies on the screen. The force of this magic depends on the number of "bars" of magic power currently available. The bars are filled by collecting blue 'magic potions' attained by kicking little sprites who then drop the potions. These sprites appear during regular levels and during bonus stages in between levels. The male warrior Ax is able to cast earth spells. The dwarf Gilius, casts lightning spells and the female warrior Tyris casts fire magic. Each character has a different number of maximum magic bars and varying ranges of attack. Various steeds known as bizarrians are found in the game. These can be ridden when the enemy rider is knocked off, or if one is found dormant. The least powerful steed is known as the Cockatrice, which can be used to knock down enemies with a swipe of its tail. The more powerful dragon, which can either shoot fireballs or breathe fire, is found later in the game.
