TMW is like a cross between Command + Conquer and chess. Sadly it was released right around the same time as C+C1 and C+C1 had much better gameplay, graphics, sound, music, everything so TMW disappeared into obscurity. But there's something I just love about the fact that it isn't just a mad tank rush, you have to be really careful about -when- you move units from one square to another because they can't fire again until they reach the new square. Meaning you have to plan a lot and move them in formations so no enemies can sneak through. If you just try to rectangle-select a whole bunch of units and move them all at once (like you would do in C+C), they'll go into complete disarray and move in wrong directions trying to walk around each other and get shot to bits, you have to be a lot more careful than that in TMW. The planes are really interesting too as you can't select them after they've taken off so again you have to really think ahead and plan what you're doing which is why I love it.
I found this in a PC store while traveling in Sweden, some 10 years after initial release. It has very interesting concepts. Your units are more valuable individually, losses really hurt your progress. Positioning and tactical managment were important. Production was slow and expensive. If you got over the very cheesy story, underneath you found a real challenge that kept you going for a long time.
The Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle-earthThe players control the heroes or villians from the famous Lord of The Rings movies. With a hero characters similar to the Warcraft series you control both the armies and all the unique heroes. The game follows the movies very closely and even got scenes from the films appear in game. Not only does the game contain a giant campaign where you play through the journey of the ring as the good side, the game also features an evil campaign where as the players play as the evil forces of Middle Earth. With multiple diffrent races from all over Middle Earth, a giant spell tree to customize your game and a unique basebuilding layout the game was great for its time.Top Trending Fantasy Warfare

Armored Core 3Armored Core 3 once again puts you in the shoes of a Raven mercenary, with the task of piloting your own battle machine to use in a range of tasks (from destroying other mechs to seek and destroy missions).
After each missions, you are payed in full. The money raised can then go on towards the purchase of items for your mech. Weapon upgrades, better shields, even the opportunity to purchase what's called an Exceed Orbit, smaller robot gun emplacements that hover around your mech, giving you an added boost of fire power in the crunch.
4 player deathmatch modes are also included, where you each pit your supped-up mechs against each other to see who is the last robot standing.Action
