I'm trying to install BG1 with the Linux installer and when the installation is finished I get this message


start.sh: 6: Bad substitution
start.sh: 8: source: not found
start.sh: 11: get_gameinfo: not found
start.sh: 12: get_gameinfo: not found
start.sh: 13: get_gameinfo: not found
start.sh: 28: define_option: not found
start.sh: 31: standard_options: not found

What could it be due to?

The problem was an old library that BG1 need to work

libssl.so.1.0.0

I installed It manualy and its works fine now

There is a reason this library was missing from the system: A plethora (mildly speaking) of severe security vulnerablilities...
At least disconnect your network while running the game.

SSL is unfortunately indeed infamous for its many security problems during the years.

Considering what the library does - encryption etc - this is truely ironic, too.
