i can't seem to find the folder for my exported characters from Baldur's Gate. I'd like to import them into BG2 but can't find them. I've looked in Program Files/GOG.com/Baldurs Gate/Characters and all I found were the five pregenerated characters.

Does the GOG version of this game put the exported characters in a different location?

Should be there. I just checked my Characters folder and all my exports were in there. Did you give them unique names? Perhaps you just overwrote the default names with your exported character(s)?

If I remember correctly, BG2 let you select a BG1 save fileas well as BG1 character file, in order to import your previous character, try this if you cannot find your exported character.

I see you've installed into the Program Files folder. Are you running Vista or Win 7 by any chance? If so, you may need to look in your users folder, maybe in AppData or Documents, as UAC doesn't like using Program Files for save games. Best advice is to not use Program Files for games if you have Vista or Win 7.
