Anyone else getting this? I start a new character and by the time I get the quest to buy some crossbow bolts from the inn, it starts slowing down. Even saving and restarting the game doesn't help.

Using windows 7 32bit
Set CPU affinity to 1 CPU
Tried all compatibility modes.
running as administrator.
Still no joy, anyone have any suggestions?

I've been having slowdowns and lag myself. I'm running this on a Windows Vista laptop (Dell Inspiron 1720) and a minute after loading my save file, it starts slowing down and lagging.
Interesting thing though, if I play this on my old XP laptop, I get no slowdown at all O_o
Going to see if there are any other settings I can look at.
Well it seems I got the framerates and lag issues resolved. I had downloaded some driver update last night and altered a little of the graphics settings since the black box issue has been solved with the download and now the game runs smoothly for the most part now.
Have you guys tried lowering the resolution in the graphics options? I have to in order to get it to run smoothly. Such is the fate of the owners of integrated video cards, lol. (And the owners of non-integrated but otherwise sucky videocards). =P

:EDIT:
Sorry, I thought I was in the Two Worlds forum, you shouldn't have to lower the res for Baldur's Gate and I don't even think you can.

I had lag issues playing in windowed mode and to solve that all I did was turn off Aero and just used win7 basic interface.

Hmm, not tried that yet *not had chance with planescape coming out again xD)
Will try it next time.

Thanks mate!
Are you using the same colour depth for the game and the desktop? 32bit colour might be worth trying if you've not done that yet. Enabling the software rendering options in the graphics could also be worth a go
