Hey I was wondering if the multiplayer still works. I've got an old copy of BG1 lying around, but last time I tried multiplayer it wouldnt work. We did finally get it working with Hamachi, but it would disconnect after 5mins.

I'm wondering if gog has maybe done something to the multiplayer, or if I can play with the new BG1 people who bought via GoG with my old retain version.

You should be able to play with retail users, but as far as I know GOG did nothing to improve the multiplayer experience. It works just like it always did... which is, poorly.

That pretty unfortunate. Playing throught BG1 and BG2 with a group of people is my total wish list.

I was playing it last night on lan and it seemed to run fine (using a xp, vista and win 7 machine)

I have not tried it yet with hamachi but that always seemed to run fine with swat 4 (btw did you use a separate server to run the hamachi server or run it in the background of one of the player's machines?)

edit- had to do the windowing thing to get it working though
