Hello all!
I've had all kinds of issues getting the originals to work on Windows 11.

My install is BGT with nothing else installed. They game is constantly freezing. I am actually playing BG1 original game in the BG 2 engine.

I had uninstalled a month ago and then reinstalled. I tried both games in their original format without BGT and they both seemed to work. But again with BGT and playing the original BG files the game started freezing quickly and randomly.

I tried downloading a sound dll name indirect should 0.20 and the game no longer freezes but it does stutter. I will keep looking for a fix.
The file I dropped into the baldur's gate 2 folder was dsound.dll

If you are playing the original games and not the enhanced editions, you definitely want to be using a direct draw dll wrapper. I recommend FunkyFr3sh CNC-DDRAW. You could also try DDRAWcompat by narzoul. You should be able to find both versions on Github by searching for the aforementioned names. Last time I checked, GOG was pre-packaging the infinity engine games with an extremely old directdraw compatibility dll from like 2013 or something (this is on Icewind Dale II). You will have much better success with the newer versions.

If that doesn't work, it might be the Mods . . . Not sure what to try with regard to mods other than doing a clean install and re-doing whatever mod installs you want from scratch.

Hello,
I will try this once I get back to my computer. I'm on the road for the next few days so playing on my laptop. Don't have Baldur's Gate installed on this machine.
