Background: I have bought and installed the downloadable file that contains both the Original BG and the Tales of teh Sword Coast ad-on. Both manuals and read me's were included. There was only one executable file, though. When I load the game, the icons and splash screens reflect the Sword Coast content.

Question: How do I start the game at the beginning of the Original story and how do I start it in the Sword Coast world?

looks like the expansion just adds stuff within the original game - so you will always start from the same place whether or not you have the expansion installed but if you do, you can veer off to the expansion areas, find new armour and reach a higher lvl if you want.

Thanks! Since I wrote my question, I made my character and saw that you are, indeed, correct. This problem is SOLVED.


It was a real thrill to again see my character take shape - I couldn't resist recreating the one I originally made many years ago when the game first came out...Heavenly!
