App will randomly but consistently crash to desktop on launch, crashlogs point to an access violation error. Game launches fine, play for X hours, come back, launch again and game will crash with an error reporter on CDPR logo screen. No mods or other faf, just 2.0 with Phantom Liberty installed. Issue persists on reboot. What does fix it is a clean reinstall of Nvidia driver package (current release from 9/27). Does not impact other games/software. Direct binary install, no GOG galaxy. What could be causing this? Is there something one could do to clear the error without reinstalling GPU driver constantly?

I tried bypassing the redpreloader as other topics suggested to no effect. I feel like Idris Elba lied to me when he said "The game is fixed."

No subsequent update from Nvidia either so I have to assume this is on the CDPR side.
I think the program is locking itself out of %APPDATA%\local\NVIDIA\DXcache and the access violation is self inflicted. Clean reinstall of NVIDIA driver clears the DXcache directory which seems to be the fix. I wonder if I could create a .ps to shutdown the nvidia driver, clear the cache and bring it back up?
Fixed.

Turn off Shader Caching in the driver, delete whatever I can in the DXcache directory, turn it back on.
*Edit - having switched from the redpreloader to the .exe I can just nuke the shader cache from the directory without turning it off in the driver.
Thank you CDPR for releasing yet another broken pile of software and thank you GOG forums for providing absolutely no help whatsoever and leaving me to solve the problem myself. You all are the best!
