(Note: Since this is my first time playing Cyberpunk 2077, please avoid spoiling the story in any way. Thanks.)

So, I’m in the midst of playing the main mission Ghost Town in Cyberpunk 2077. Currently, my V is with Panam. They have just completed the scene in the cave and are on their way toward the Sunset Motel. That’s how far I’ve progressed in this mission.

My question refers to a couple scenes before. There was a massive machine gun that I looted after the fight at Rocky Ridge, between the bar and the gas station. Afterward, when I checked, the top page of my inventory showed an image of V holding that machine gun in his hands. But the weapon was nowhere to be seen in the actual inventory list. So, I had no way to use that machine gun in the subsequent scene in the cave. And, apparently, I won’t be able to use it at any other moment for the rest of this game.

Is that a bug in the game or was that weapon meant to be used solely for that scene at Rocky Ridge and at no other time or place?

I also noticed weird things in these scenes that must be bugs. There were what looked like weapon mods and scopes just hovering in mid-air at Rocky Ridge and inside the cave, as if they were part of the landscape. And there was a cell phone that did the same just outside the Sunset Motel...

Those of you who know, is the situation with the machine gun an error or is it intended? If it’s a bug, are there ways for players to eliminate it or work around it?

The weapon you're referring to is probably a Militech Mk. 31 HMG.

If so, then that's intended behaviour.

That is a use and discard-weapon, that cannot be reloaded, crafted, looted or purchased. They are only carried by heavy gunner enemies, or mounted on automated gun emplacements (where you can remove them if your Body stat is high enough) throughout the game. It's only to be used as is, or dropped on the ground.

I had the same question when I first encountered that weapon too.

Yes, PaladinNO, that is the weapon. Thanks for the info. I'll have to keep those details about body stats and ripping them off turrets in mind. That's a bad boy weapon that could be put to good use in the right situations, hehe.

Actually, if you see them as a mounted gun, it's better to hack them (requires X number in Quickhacking) to be friendly or shut them down (best option), or sneak close to them and use Technical Ability for the same result.

Or you can shoot them out to disable them, which is my personal preference if I can't otherwise disable them. Making them friendly, and the gun kills anyone, you won't get the XP for that.
