Hi guys,

A couple of months ago I purchased and played Cyberpunk 2077. I really enjoy the game, so I want to download a back-up via the back-up installer and put it on an external hard drive. I already downloaded all the game files, but I don't really get how the patches work. Am I supposed to download all of them or only the recent ones? If I need all of them, do I execute the files in correct order?

Can someone please explain how this works? I'm not a hardcore PC gamer or user in general so I'm clueless.

Thanks

If you already got all the offline files for the base game at patch 1.6, then you don't need any of the patch files.

The patch files are only needed if you're on an earlier version of the game and want to update it.
The number of required patches would depend on how old the version of the game is.

As I posted in another thread as a reply to someone else:

If you're all the way back on 1.2, then you need the following patches - and you need ALL of them:

Patch 1.21 (591 MB)
Patch 1.22 (591 MB)
Patch 1.23 (603 MB)
Patch 1.3 (34.1 GB)
Patch 1.3 AVX (16.8 MB)
Patch 1.31 (802 MB)
Patch 1.5 (108 GB)
Patch 1.5 Hotfix 1 (5.61 GB)
Patch 1.5 Hotfix 2 (17.8 MB)
Patch 1.52 (1.23 GB)
Patch 1.6 (12.5 GB)

The patches must be done in order, else you will just get an error.

Personally I got the offline files for the 1.03 base game and every single patch released since, because I like to keep my choices open. Takes 314 GB of disk space, but who cares. ^^

Thanks for clearing that up. I installed the files at patch 1.5 so I have little downloading to do (thank god).
Thanks again for replying.

Sure thing, glad to help. But if you're on 1.5, you may run into a problem.

From 1.5, you need the following patches:
1.5 Hotfix 1
1.5 Hotfix 2
1.52
1.6

The required 1.52 patch is currently NOT available on the GoG offline patch list.
