120gb download then forced to update another 60gb via launcher to be able to install DLC.

Game now wants to open GOG launcher when run and has shoehorned in a Project Red launcher resulting in ~5% worse performance.

The whole reason I bought through GOG was to not have launchers running in the background.
Go to your game install directory and launch the game directly from the main .exe.
[X]\Cyberpunk 2077\bin\x64\Cyberpunk2077.exe

That will bypass any of the useless game clients. I don't have GoG Galaxy installed, and I still haven't even seen this "Red Launcher" on my PC.
That just opened the Red Launcher for me, which incidentally wasn't uninstalled along with the rest of the game.

After a day of downloading only to end up with two launchers wanting to run in the background anyway, I'm done. I refunded it earlier.

Strange...The "Cyberpunk2077.exe" in the "bin" folder should be the offline executable. It's literally disconnected from any DRM, not sure why yours opens the launcher.

There's also "Launch Cyberpunk 2077" which is a different file that opens RED launcher.
Before updating via the GOG launcher in order to install the DLC it just opened the game, after updating it opened up at least the Red Launcher however I tried to launch it.

I see, I don't own the DLC so I can't speak on how that changes things. If it only goes through the launcher that is indeed disappointing.
Can someone please post a picture of what the RED launcher looks like? I seriously haven't seen it before, and I have the Phantom Liberty expansion (it is not a DLC), and the game patched to 2.1.

...EDIT:
NEVER MIND! Now I have the damn RED launcher too! And I did NOT have that before! And I don't have GoG Galaxy installed, AND I haven't done anything with the game since last I played it, and I didn't have the launcher then!

What the actual fuck, CDPR / GOG!?

But running the bin .exe directly still started the game directly, without any launcher nonsense.
Both my default 2.1, .2.1 Japanese, and 1.6 install.

EDIT 2:
Uninstalling RED Launcher through Windows "Add / remove programs" also fixed the default shortcut, so now it too starts the game directly.

Add / remove programs method was most likely too easy, since that is no longer available.
What a real dirt bag move from GOG to force people to use crappy additional launchers.
Why no option to opt out from such launchers ? CDPR/GOG seem to go into the direction of EA and Ubisoft :(
Is there a way to bypass all the launcher software? Sounds like a "feature" not a bug, and one I don't want.

I take it you have not read this thread. There is posted a way to do that in here.

So if I buy the game and install it, it's as simple as uninstalling the launcher separately? Then if I install the DLC I'll just need to repeat the uninstall?

For one, don't use GoG Galaxy. It isn't necessary for anything. A manual download and install is a bit more time consuming, but it's worth it.

Second, as I wrote in post #2:
Go to your game install directory and launch the game directly from the main .exe.
[X]\Cyberpunk 2077\bin\x64\Cyberpunk2077.exe

That will bypass any of the useless game clients.

If you already have GoG Galaxy install, every new game install automatically tries to direct you through that, so just make a manual shortcut to the main. exe, and delete the one GoG creates on the desktop.
