There has been numerous posts around the internet about the pixelated, low-res billboards around the Night City while driving vehicles. I too caught the worse end of this problem, and it's stupidly annoying.

After numerous re-installs, I found out that the problem reoccurs when reloading any saves that has this problem, it will then persist over all saves. The exact reasons why this occurs is beyond me.

The outcome and solution is, delete your "%appdata%\..\Local\CD Projekt Red\Cyberpunk 2077\UserSettings.json" local settings, and start a new save. DON'T EVER LOAD EARLIER SAVES! Yes, your earlier saves are probably doomed. And you need to reapply all game settings.

I tested this by removing UserSettings.json, starting a new character, billboards ok. Loaded earlier character save, billboards pixelated. Loaded previous character save, which now also pixelates. Removed the json file again, loaded non-corrupted earlier new character save, billboards are ok again.

Just wanted to post this for everyone who's looking for the solution for the same problem. Cyberpunk's been tough luck with saves arching over multiple updates, so this kinda doesn't come as a surprise.

Best to start fresh chooms when the Phantom Liberty hits!
Side note: this may be a source for many other graphical bugs too. I suggest to try this, if feasible for you.

Necroing this to give people looking for a solution a proper fix and not this massive overkill.

Open "Cyberpunk 2077\engine\config\base\general.ini" and add:

[Rendering/AsyncCompute]
DynamicTexture = false

Save & done.

yo, trying to fix it with what you suggested, but doesn't seem to do much. do i need to use cet and disable async compute as well?
