I don't think it's bad. It delivers on what it tries to be. It's just not my cup of tea.

It takes our current issues - junk and garbage, rundown, concrete skyscrapers, cuthroat gangs and corporations, desintegrated societies - and cranks it up to 11. And contrary to Shadowrun Returns, Ghost in the Shell, Satellite Reign, Cowboy Bebop etc., there is no magic, no deeper philosophy or beautiful characters which balance that misery.

And in my free time, I want to have these 'fairy tales'. I want to have nature, nice landscapes, trees and lakes. I want snowy mountains, see dragons flying and magic fireballs.

I do not want to see a drug addict between heaps of junk. I see that already if I'm stepping out of the door.

I requested a refund.

The game isn't great and CDPR (management at least) seems a bit shady, tbh.

The Witcher 3 is in my top 10 and I've been gaming for about 25 years. So it hurts a little bit to say what I said.

i was sold. FOR EIGHT YEARS, that this was going to be the corrective action to mass effect and many other games pretending to be an RPG...

its an interactive movie simulator.

be me. pay 60USD. run game. hold C to skip. roll credits.

precisely my feelings at the moment. i recall in the beginning before playing The Witcher 3 i had read up a lot on how awful the controls and combat were [seeing it was all console controller bias?]

but the patched version i played was good. damn near great.

the kudos i will perpetually give to the cyberpunk team is that the game on my machine is visually stunning.

its runs decent on high/ultra/psycho at 3840x1600 and the game never has to load buildings or anything.

that alone is an achievement and a testament to the talent and skill demonstrated in this game...

BUT

a few years from now, will i be looking forward to reloading this game, like an old fallout and running through it?
