If Cyberpunk gets an online multiplayer mode,

if i buy the gam eon gog.com and my friends buy the game on steam or another website would
i still be able play online with them.

as gog.com on facebook are unsure about it

We don't know and even CDPR themselves don't know yet/don't want to say anything yet.

The multiplayer is also not only a mode, which gets added to Cyberpunk 2077. The multiplayer is their next big full AAA title.

It will only be released/developed after Cyberpunk 2077 got all its DLCs and Expansions. So probably after 2021, probably later.

If this is the case, I predict a lot of complaints about it. For me it's better since I don't really play any online games and many games with online option are geared more for the online and the the campaign is more neglected. So for me, personally, it's better that these are separate games.

Cool. I did not know this. Works for me. I can play the single player knowing CDPR is going to take care of the game and those who like the online stuff can get their own version with a separate team dealing with updates to that game. Win-win.

Things may have changed, we know core-game has been delayed but MP as well? Original plan was to release MP 2 year after release. I personally think 2 year after launch is tough, usually game has lost its appeal and most gamers have moved on already. CDPR can consider themselves lucky if the game keeps selling full year.

Lets hope this goes well. But generally most games happy times are over after 6 month or so. Very often you can see 4 month old game with 40% discout etc. Then theres game like GTA5 it just keeps giving and giving.
