This is just my opinion (and I'm no musician), but your basic beat comes on a bit too strong. I think you have a solid base for something interesting there, but you need to build a melody on top of it that goes somewhere. Right now, it's like two rhytm sections competing together.

They have a great, basic beat underneath, right? But then they layer the melody on top of it and at no point do the two compete. The beat gives the track structure and the melody gives it direction (takes you on a journey). That's how I see it.
You have a solid start, though. Keep going!
